This. Would show the fans that we mean business for once.Southern fairy wrote:It's a strange order of doing things, but I think we're talking to him and drawing up a contract on the assumption that a fee is eventually met. Apparently we want to pay 10 and they want 15. I don't think he's worth more than 12 but f*ck it, open the pursestrings and splash out just to get one 'over the line' for once.
Also this. He'd just be warming the bench.Southern fairy wrote:Austin would be a fool to join Chelsea. I might get ridiculed for that, but let's just hope he's in it for more than just the money.
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

I never believe anything till they are holding the scarf.
No idea why he isn't rated higher though,he's English and even if he wasn't he's worth 12-15 Mil. He also had the second most shots saved last season and the most blocked shots; considering he was 26 in most shots missed we have someone who is very capable of hitting the target.

Re: Austin deal done?
The QPR vs Man C game sticks in my mind. Including the ones that were disallowed, Austin could have had 5 or 6 that day. He hit the corners every time and got himself in the right area every single time. With some better service than what he got at QPR, he should be unstoppable here.LONDONTOON wrote:I never believe anything till they are holding the scarf.

Re: Austin deal done?
We have absolutely no service that's the problem. would love Grenier here.
Saying that we can't judge anyone because of how tire our coaches are.

Re: Austin deal done?
He would be the perfect signing. After doing some thinking about our squad, 5-6 first team signings would be enough, especially if we get 2-3 in the development squad. We have Darlow, Lascelles, Aarons and De Jong coming into the first team squad who weren't really available last season for a number of reasons.

He spent the whole 2014/15 injured and just signed a contract until about 2018.LONDONTOON wrote:We have absolutely no service that's the problem. would love Grenier here.

Also we don't have any coaches, which in fairness is an improvement on two weeks ago.

I've said all along we don't hugely need a striker. Only a replacement if Cisse goes.Jaiston wrote:Fans are never happyFrank Dialogue wrote:Perez is better than Berahino, would be a stupid signing.
Complain about lack of options, complains when we might have options.

Don't need a striker, strongly disagree with this, given Cisse's injury/suspension record

Every other club: Club declare interest in player. Two days later: Club sign player.
Newcastle: Newcastle declare interest in player. Two months later: Player signs for another club. Or alternatively, two transfer windows later: Newcastle sign player.
