Who would be keeping him out? He's ahead of Rivière and Ferreyra in the pecking order, Cissé is the only striker struggling with injuries (we signed SDJ to be our 10).

The likes of Riviere, Cisse, Perez, and SDJ would keep him out, because at least 2 of them would be on the bench and the rest would be midfielders, defenders and a keeper'.

Armstrong did well, won a few headers, made good runs and linked up the play well. He's already a better footballer than Cisse, just a little raw still.

Armstrong is only 17 and was good today, great movement, decision making will come with time. He really should have squared it to Sissoko though. I don't know why Pardew brought him on so early today, was always going to be a huge ask for him to make an impact, but he did well.
