Obviously him and Terry would be first choice CB but I put the restraint on of players who have been in the last few England squads only.

Also, Italy have a striker called Immobile. Didn't know <sholes> also played for the Italian National team <roll>

Lallana is the most exciting player England have had since Rooney first broke onto the scene , makes a change to see an England player that can beat a player on the ball.

I'm sure I read on here that Pardew wanted to sign Lallana a couple of years ago for 6 million but Carr overruled him. <scratch>

Bring Terry out of retirement and go with a progressive 3-5-2.
Hart
Cahill Terry Jagielka
Carrick Gerrard
Johnson Lallana Baines
Rooney Sturridge
Only problem is the Johnson on the right, but I don't know who else could replace him.

Bit of a long shot but with that formation, Milner?

That's a decent idea <scratch> I really think it could work. It solves the problem of who to sacrifice out of Rooney and Sturridge without losing the extra man in midfield. Not that it will ever happen though.

Shola on the bench.

Impact sub, 70th minute I reckon. <awe>

Edit - well, an impressive performance by Shola, 90 minutes on the bench in a 0-0 draw. <awe>

Ecuador scored 2 of those when he wasn't on the pitch mind.

I've had to double check this numerous times from differing sources but I can now confirm that Scotland actually beat another country at something.
