The Division - Out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 8th Mar

Tom Clancy's The Division is out in less than two months. There's a beta starting at the end of the January which you can get in on it by pre-ordering at Amazon (no money is taken until dispatch, you can cancel after getting your code, which comes at the same time as the confirmation email).

It's a persistent online group focused, loot driven shooter with RPG style stats, progression and abilities set in New York City after everything goes to s*** following a virus outbreak. Think of a Tom Clancy style game with elements of Diablo and Destiny, as well as a touch of Day-Z here and there.

There's been an alpha and a bunch of showings to outlets and youtubers as the marketing machine enters release mode, so there's a lot of footage out there if you're interested, although apparently a bunch of settings may have been dialled back for this. Also Newcastle's own Ubisoft Reflections were involved in the development, for whatever that's worth.

I've got my beta invite through for next weekend so lets see how good it is but Ubisoft these days is all style abd no substance so i'm a little aprehensive.

I was on the Alpha. It was pretty good, although I was playing Solo. I cancelled my pre-order as I've stopped wanting to buy AAA titles when they release as they're just too overpriced.

I'll definitely pick it up when the price drops though.
