Your Player Ratings vs Tottenham (13/12/15)

Post by Al-Calo »

Rate the players, leave a comment and they'll be collated for use in the TFI match report and database. The more people that leave ratings the better it will be. It's important that you don't exaggerate player ratings, if you do it defeats the purpose of us collecting the data, so be as objective as possible. Clearly ridiculous ratings aren't included, so giving undeserved 1s or 10s won't skew ratings. Also, use the order I've posted, as it's a lot harder to collect the data otherwise.

Don't just submit blanket ratings like "1 for everyone", the point of this is to rate individual performances.

Rate in multiples of 0.5 up to a maximum of 10 (7, 7.5, 8, etc). Anything else will be rounded to the nearest .5 anyway.

Use this order. Please.

Elliot -

Janmaat -
Mbemba -
Coloccini -
Dummett -

Sissoko -
Anita -
Colback -
Wijnaldum -

De Jong -

Cissé -

Ayoze -
Mitrović -
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren -

Use the order above.

For consistency, please try to rate players roughly along the lines of this scale. 1s and 10s should be extremely rare and only for performances that could be considered among the best/worst of all time or the absolute best/worst that could be done.
10 - A godlike performance, such as getting a hat-trick of goals/assists or being utterly dominant at the back. This should be a rarity.
9 - Outstanding performance.
8 - Very good performance.
7 - Good performance.
6 - High average.
5.5 - Average average. Use this as the baseline.
5 - Low average.
4 - Poor, perhaps with the occasional bright moment.
3 - Very bad, several mistakes with little to no redemption.
2 - Horrendous, almost as bad as it is possible to perform.
1 - Among the worst performances of all time. This should be extremely rare.

Elliot - 6.5 Made some good saves along with some terrible distribution as per. Proving a solid second Goalkeeper.

Janmaat - 5.5 Struggled with Spurs' relentless pace at first, grew into the game though.
Mbemba - 7 Solid, with a better partner will bloom into a fantastic player
Coloccini - 6 Was mostly at fault for the goal but other than that was fairly composed
Dummett - 6 Sluggish as per but looking more and more composed at LB

Sissoko - 5.5 Some characteristically powerful runs negated by either running into crowds or poor crosses
Anita - 5 Still struggles to command the midfield, not powerful or intelligent enough
Colback - 4.5 A whole range of stupid challenges and wayward passes, see Anita
Wijnaldum - 6.5 Pretty much the only player first half who was showing intelligence.

De Jong - 4.5 Totally anonymous

Cissé - 5.5 Held the ball up much better than he has done on occasions the last couple of seasons, and not as obnoxiously offside either. Made some rather glaring errors which loses him points but all in all not as bad as some are making out.

Ayoze - 7.5 Ridiculously awesome control for his goal, great first touch, can spin with the ball like a ballerina. Will be a genuine struggle to keep him in January.
Mitrović - 6.5 Should have scored 2, but showed himself to be infinitely more dangerous than Cisse
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 8 Getting s*** together

Elliot - 9 When he's on it he is an excellent keeper

Janmaat - 6 Would be much higher if we were just marking the second half performance
Mbemba - 7.5 Pretty solid
Coloccini - 7 At fault for their goal, but did well for our opener
Dummett - 6 Looked quite comfortable today

Sissoko - 6 See Janmaat
Anita - 6 Tidy
Colback - 6 OK but him and Anita are too similar
Wijnaldum - 6 Quiet game today

De Jong - 4 Not his day

Cissé - 4 Doesn't offer much

Ayoze - 8 Game Changer
Mitrović - 8 See Ayoze
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 8 Sorted it out in the second half

Elliot - 8.5 Some outstanding saves. Starting to think we're better with him in goal than Krul

Janmaat - 5.5 Not one of his best games tbh
Mbemba - 7 Good player, getting better too
Coloccini - 6 Shocking for the goal but made up for it somewhat with the first goal and an all round decent game
Dummett - 5.5 Wasn't troubled but did very little

Sissoko - 5 Classic Sissoko. Shows his potential one minute, runs into a player the next and refuses to track back. Too lazy for my liking.
Anita - 6 Hard game for him, but he handled it fairly well
Colback - 4.5 He's just crap man. Does f*** all
Wijnaldum - 6 Not his best, not his worst

De Jong - 5 Anon

Cissé - 5.5 Hit and miss

Ayoze - 8 Obviously Lloris made a hash of his goal but he did wonderful to take it and hit it before it bounced. Start next game
Mitrović - 8 Better all round player than Cisse and clearly more of a goal threat. Vital goal and assist. Start next game
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 8 Starting to get things right. Should drop the front two and Colback in my opinion but looking better

Elliot - 8.5 - Genuinely looking better than Krul at the moment, showing great consistency recently. Kicking a bit off still but that's all I can really fault him for.

Janmaat - 5.5 - s**** first half, decent second.
Mbemba - 7 - Solid throughout
Coloccini - 5 - Alright in general, unforgivable defending on a couple of occasions though, especially their goal.
Dummett - 6 - Seemed to cope pretty well.

Sissoko - 5.5 - Enthusiastic but prone to running down blind alleys a lot and his crossing was wayward on several occasions.
Anita - 5 - Hardly imposing. Couldn't really tell any difference between him being on and Gouffran being on which says enough.
Colback - 5 - Struggled to assert himself. The yellow didn't help.
Wijnaldum - 5.5 - Very quiet.

De Jong - 4 - Anonymous besides when he was noticeably s****.

Cissé - 4 - Pretty much same as De Jong.

Ayoze - 7.5 - Lots of enthusiasm, catalyst for us getting back in to the game.
Mitrović - 7 - Love his work rate, noticeable improvement on Cisse <awe>
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 7 - Good job sorting it out after the break but odd that we started with the side that didn't look like they were offering much against Liverpool.

Elliot - 8 - Some amazing saves.

Janmaat - 6 - s**** in first half, improved after the break.
Mbemba - 7 - Solid.
Coloccini - 6 - Their goal was hit fault but he was decent apart from that.
Dummett - 6 - Was getting a bit of a going over in the first half but improved in the 2nd half, pretty solid.

Sissoko - 6 - Was very poor in the first half but improved in the 2nd, unlucky not to get an assist for that chance he put on a plate for Mitro.
Anita - 7 - They were very busy in midfield and did well to cope considering he wasn't helped much by Jack. Some great tackles and slick passing.
Colback - 5 - Kept going but not at the races, having a poor season.
Wijnaldum - 4 - Another disappearing act from him.

De Jong - 4 - Some nice touches but couldn't really get in to the game.

Cissé - 4 - Blocked a goal-bound shot from a team mate while stood in an offside position. Missed a couple of chances too but some decent link up play 2nd half.

Ayoze - 8 - His energy helped turn the game, De Jong hasn't done a lot wrong but can't see how he can get in the team over Perez.
Mitrović - 7 - Proper centre forward play, great assist for the Perez goal and in the right place and the right time for his. We looked much more of a threat when he came on.
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 7 - A shambolic first half but really sorted things out after the break. That second half was as good as we've played this season.

Elliot - 9 - Man of the match. Without his saves, we wouldn't have won that game. Really impressed with his recent form.

Janmaat - 6 - Improved second half, solid performance.
Mbemba - 7.5 - Leader at the back, dealt with everything that came his way. Made so many tackles and clearances.
Coloccini - 6.5 - Made up for his error for their goal, with his part in our equaliser. He looked decent apart from losing Dier from that corner.
Dummett - 6 - Been a lot better in the last 2 games. Still doesn't look comfortable as a LB, but he does try. Was solid today.

Sissoko - 5.5 - Awful first half, decent second half. He's inconsistent within games, never mind between them. Poor tracking back a few times that we got away with.
Anita - 6 - Good pressing, worked hard, still struggles at times due to his size and lack of physicality.
Colback - 5 - Thought he was alright until he picked up another needless yellow. Then he goes missing. Really struggling this season.
Wijnaldum - 5.5 - A bit anonymous at times, but worked hard to help Dummett a bit more this game. Shows that bit of magic here and there, but sometimes struggles to impose himself on the game out wide.

De Jong - 4 - Struggled to get involved and on the ball when we were poor in the first half.

Cissé - 4 - Should have hit the target with his chance, blocked a shot on goal, didn't do much right other than improved work rate that he carried on from last game.

Ayoze - 7.5 - Brilliant finish for the winner. Changed the game off the bench.
Mitrović - 7.5 - His partnership with Ayoze is great, they link up really well. Seemed fitter and a lot sharper with a lot of pressing and closing down from him. Grabbed the important equaliser.
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 7 - Good substitutions at the right time. Two wins when I didn't give us a chance!

Elliot - 8, some cracking saves that kept us in it and was relatively solid all game. Personally, maybe thought he could've done better at their goal but maybe I'm asking for too much!
Janmaat - 6, let the crowd get to him first half, improved in the second and finished solidly.
Mbemba - 7, very solid, not bad with the ball at his feet, helped out nullify the threat of a very lacklustre Kane today
Colo - 8, mistake for their goal, i had visions of Palace, but he stood up to be counted today. Great header back into the mix for our first, better performance captain!
Dummett - 7, had another solid game at LB against some v tricky players. Credit where it is due, for a player i don't rate, he's proved me wrong the last 2 weeks.

SIssoko - 5, poor from the big man today, had a lot of service and got running but poor final ball. On another day he could've had a few assists and had a blinder.
Anita - 6, pressed and helped out win the ball, i must admit I'm not his biggest fan, but we've currently not got any alternatives.
Colback - 5, another yellow..starting to turn into Tiote now as every time he gets a yellow he's rendered useless, again we've not got much in the way of replacements
Wijnaldum - 6, showed glimpses of the quality we all know he has but one of those games where he didn't really turn up

De Jong- 5.5, similar to last week in that i thought he showed some nice touches early on, i thought he would've had a goal today if Cisse hadn't blocked that shot. But he faded big time and was rightly taken off
Cisse - 5.5, on few occasions he held up the ball well, just as he had done in the Liverpool match, but i must insist it was few. Should've done better with the chance, and got a few more balls into the box today which he won well

Ayoze - 8, slated him last week for not showing much effort, complete opposite today as he harried the Spurs defence and made a nuisance of him self, great finish for the winner, well done wee man!
Mitrovic - 8, its hard not to like this lad, showed great attitude which i feared since he's been dropped recently he may have his head down but no, like Ayoze he harried and worked hard for the team, great work for the winner!
Gouffran - 6?, came on late with a few minutes to go, but continued the work ethic with when he was in play

McClaren - 8, tactical genius with the two subs Steve, well done, and furthermore i was impressed we went for the win and weren't content with the point, could've easily sat in when we scored the first but we played on and looked threatening for the first time in god knows. Much better Steve, you've got a reaction out of them, now keep this going please!

Elliott 8.5- Man of the match for me, only game he's had better for us was the one at Bournemouth.

Janmaat 6- Did alright against a top quality player in Eriksen.
Dummett 4.5- Had good moments but looks shaky.
Mbemba 6.5- Looked steady,
Coloccini 5- Badly at fault for their goal, good header back in the middle for the Mitro goal.

Sissoko 5.5- Had an awful first half, played better second half, just frustrating to watch at times when you know he's capable of better.
Anita 4- Not convinced about the guy, think Newcastle fans overate him in general.
Colback 3- Thought it was the worst game I've seen him have for us (know some of you will disagree).
Wijnaldum 7- Quieter 2nd half but overall thought he was our best outfield player, love watching the guy, just wish he'd cut down on the diving and appealing to referee's.

De Jong 6- Looked like he could make something happen, still needs to get fitter though.
Cisse 4- Just wasn't his day but never stopped trying.

Perez 7- Made a difference when he came on, links up well with Mitrovic.
Mtirovic 7- Read same as Perez, expect for the words links up well with Perez.
Gouffran N/A- Not on too long.

McClaren 9- Can't blame him for picking the starting 11 from the Liverpool game but made good substitutions that changed the game, could argue he was man of the match.

Did we just beat Spurs away with average ratings of about 5? Imagine what we could do if we were playing well...

Think people are overrating Mitro, scored from about a foot out then missed an absolute sitter then nearly got himself in trouble having a row with Alli (though did stay composed enough when their RB bounced the ball off his head). His best bit of play was the flick on to Perez. I was at the game & De Jong did as much running as him in the first half but got no support or supply but first half we were playing hoofball.
And in conclusion, how far had you got through reading this before you realised it was my signature?

Elliot - 9

Janmaat - 6.5
Mbemba - 6.5
Coloccini - 5.5 - Laziness on their goal, but made up for it for our first
Dummett - 5 - Repeatedly beat for pace in the first half

Sissoko - 6.5 - Terrible first half constantly switching off and letting them attack down his wing, but really influential in the second half
Anita - 6
Colback - 5 - Tiote got way more stick than Colback for picking up cards, but he's equally as undisciplined (although less violent)
Wijnaldum - 6 - A little anonymous

De Jong - 5

Cissé - 4 - Worst he's looked in ages. Constantly offside, terrible awareness

Ayoze - 7.5
Mitrović - 7
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 7 - If the first half is how he instructed them to play, then he deserves lower marks, but based on the second half, good marks for him, both tactics and making the subs early

Goals win you games though. Other than his missed chance he didn't do anything wrong and he did everything else right. He put in effort running around up top and chasing players down, he made some decent runs, he linked the midfield and attack (something neither Cisse or De Jong managed to do very much), he held the ball up, he scored, got an assist. Not sure what more you really want for 20 minutes on the pitch??

Elliot - 9. Man of the match. Some world class saves to keep us in it first half. Won us the game.

Janmaat - 6. Good defensively for a change.
Mbemba - 7. Is Kane out of his pocket yet?
Coloccini - 5. His fault for the goal but otherwise much better than his recent performances.
Dummett - 5. Scared of the ball.

Sissoko - 6. Game if two halves. Dog s**** in the first. Great in the second.
Anita - 5. Him and Colback are tough to rate. They do a lot without doing anything.
Colback - 5. See above.
Wijnaldum - 6. Some great intelligent play but went missing a bit as well.

De Jong - 6. Very intelligent player. He'd be much better suited to playing behind Perez.

Cissé - 3. Awful. Hopefully he won't start again before January as Mitro and Ayo both deserve to start. He's always offside and even blocked our only decent chance in the first half.

Ayoze - 8. Brilliant. So intelligent and won us the game.
Mitrović - 7. Like Perez and Elliot he won us the game.
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 6. Poor first half, good second half. Needs to dispose of Cisse. Perez should be one of the first teams on the teamsheet. Should be looking at trying to fit Mitrovic in as well.

Elliot - 8.5 - Crucial saves in the first half kept us in the game

Janmaat - 6 - s*** first half, decent second
Mbemba - 7 - Solid enough and kept Kane quiet. Also contributed to the first goal
Coloccini - 6 - Awful marking for the Spurs goal but composed himself afterwards.
Dummett - 5.5 - Meh

Sissoko - 8 - Led the charge with some driving runs
Anita - 6 - Done the simple things well
Colback - 6 - See Anita
Wijnaldum - 6.5 - Quiet but still contriuted to the 2nd goal

De Jong - 5 - Game passed him by

Cissé - 4 - Awful footballer. Doesn't offer anything

Ayoze - 7.5 - Changed the game with some direct running and always looked dangerous
Mitrović - 7 - Offered a lot more than Cisse
Gouffran - N/A

McClaren - 7 - Awful long ball s**** first half. We played a lot better 2nd half when we actually got the ball down and played football. Subs were brilliant, but Perez and Mitrovic both need to start against Villa
