Alan Pardew out

Post by Cheik the room »

There you have it. Gus Poyet takes over a team with 1 point, takes the cups seriously, and they have a day out at Wembley to show for it. And what's that? It DIDN'T have a horrible effect on their league form????? What is this black magic? Poyet has done this in about 6 months, while we've stagnated under Pardew for 2 years. It's not hard to reach a cup final if you want, and we've exchanged it for mid-table mediocrity. I really do despise that man, this result has just made me realise it all the more <laugh>

The players are equally to blame for our cup defeats.

Why shouldn't this be used as a marker against what we can achieve? We have embarrassed ourselves by making such hard work of the cups...

We got beaten by the best team in England at the moment in extra time. It's hardly embarrassing considering they will probably win the whole thing.

It's the proof if needed that it ISN'T as hard as he would like to make up. Sunderland are similar sized club, same area, similar budget. The fact they can reach a cup final shows that we are simply not doing enough, it has been over 3 years.
