I’ve done 10 weeks before (couple of years ago) so this will be my longest dry spell.

I've been borderline tee total for around 8 or so years now, I'll probably drink alcohol around 5 times per year on average. I think I can actually name everything I've drank this year .

Used to drink mainly spirits before but very rare now, last spirits I bought was a bottle of rum and a bottle of whiskey which lasted me the whole of last year.

Currently I have 4 cans of Guinness that I bought around Feb/March sat in the fridge, I did have a Guinness at the weekend actually when I went out to the pub for a meal with family.

It's a weird one for me as I kinda subconsciously just stopped drinking regular around 2015 and never looked back.

My normal drinking patter has generally been nothing Monday to Thursday, but on Friday/Saturday/Sunday I'd generally have a couple of beers over the course of those 3 days, and a couple of large whiskey's each night. If I was out for a meal and not driving I'd have a couple of pints. I rarely ever drink to get drunk, but I do drink regularly at weekends. I've also got Inflammatory Bowel Disease and one of the main causes of inflammation is alcohol, so can't do any harm to have a break.

I would say that I've gotten to the stage where I'll have a drink just because it's Friday/Saturday/Sunday, rather than having one because I actually want one. So hopefully after 100 days I'll still stick to weekends, but only days where I really want a drink rather than drinking just for the sake of it.

Very expensive month on health care as issues with my chest have been ongoing and constant for almost 6 months.

Had a £1000 worth of company medical insurance I blew though very quickly seeing a cardiologist. After the first consultation, blood test and an echo angiogram - I owed £750 on top of the initial grand. Then had a CT angiogram which cost £1800.

My dad has chipped in to help me out but after spending all of that - the heart isn't the issue according to the specialist. My ticker is in top top condition.

Next step is back to GP and keep going to see that the hell it is.

Specialist says my heart is fine and the CT scan showed no issues with lungs either. If I hadn't have eaten 6 sausages rolls the day before my blood test, it'd have fine as well.

Back to the GP to see what I do next

Yep. At least it removes any further investigation for that area and can see what else there is to focus on.

Have a meeting with GP in about two weeks but he was very pleased with the results to date and has some ideas of next steps

Was speaking to someone earlier who had a serious first world problem. They had to buy another car as the dog couldn’t get into the back of their Ferrari….

Some people just have rotten luck.

Chance I might be moving up to Liverpool this summer and buying a place as London is just too expensive for us.

My office is in Chester but MrsOT has to be working in central Liverpool so need somewhere, I suppose on the Wirral with train links to both.

A few on here are in or about that area. Any places to avoid?

Hey OT. I live in Irby on the Wirral. Please DM if you want my number.

If I recall correctly MiniOT is nearly finished school, so that's not a consideration, which makes things much easier.
Avoid Woodchurch, central Birkenhead/Prenton, Seacombe and South Wallasey

In short, the M53 runs up the Wirral. Generally speaking the areas on the East Side are less favoured, because you have some deprived areas like Birkenhead. BUT You do have some really nice areas like Oxton, where houses can be big and good value. They are cheaper because of school catchment, proximity to less well off areas and less fields.

West of the M53 is less built up, a bit more expensive. Avoid the area "Woodchurch".

As far as areas with train connections to BOTH, Hooton is nice. Brombourgh/Bebington are decent and close to a good Grammar.

You could also look at the top, West Kirby and Hoylake (latter expensive). But the train to Chester has a change and is 22 mins... the drive wouldn't be too bad.

You should also consider Park and Ride. there's loads, like Bidston, Birkenhead North, Hooton and are generally free https://www.merseyrail.org/journey-plan ... tions/car/

MiniOT is now at uni in Royal Holloway and just finished her first term but she's happy there and looking at doing a masters afterwards so her next 4/5 years are all set and it's a perfect time for MrsOT and I to get ourselves sorted out.

Update on my health:

Still have chest pain from costochrondiris but it's slowly fading. The random dizziness/lightheadedness and fatigue are still occuring so the GP has booked me in for a CT scan on my head to see if any issues there.

All other tests keep coming back within normal expected bounds so no huge concern from GPs or specialists.
