Also I think it's a fake, the badge doesn't have the same white border as that original leaked version

Yeah, these are the correct versions.

With the white border on the players version.

That green and white kit is the worst thing I've ever seen.

I don’t get the adoration and excitement around this proposed white with green trim alleged ( KSA ) away kit from some quarters, frankly it’s like an old Ireland away, or last seasons Hibs away or past Celtic tips, to name but a few.
Imo it’s rank and NUFC should be capable of far better design product than that, particularly based on past club history and origins etc.
I hope it’s not a case of the ownership cocking a snook at football governance , flagging KSA colours because they can, if so, it’s a cheap and counterproductive shot imo.
Anyway, that said, politics aside, it’s an insipid crappy looking away kit, could have some so much better. First time on a while the young one will deffo not be getting a particular away kit bought for next season

If they want to use green and white that's fine by me. A little more inventiveness in the design would be good

I honestly think that's part of the reaction. If it was a creative design that used some green and white, maybe even mixed with another colour, people may not have reacted so strongly. But when the design is so lazy, it makes the motivation so much more transparent.

There's no getting around it, it's literally the traditional Saudi away kit, any attempt to go "look, we had that white one with a bit of teal 20 years ago" is beyond clutching at straws. I honestly do quite like it, but I couldn't buy it. If people can fair play to them, but if you're going to don't pretend it is isn't what it clearly is.

I still don't really see the big deal, like I've said before, in about 12 months time nobody outside of our fan base will remember it. For a little bit of green and white cloth it's being far too deeply analysed imo. The only real effect this will have is that it will sell well in KSA. Also like I previously said, get Ameobi, Martin's or Babayaro on the back and claim it a Nigerian inspired shirt as a protest.

As for the reference to the old green and white kit I think that mainly came about when a journo outright said we have never used the colours before and people obviously were quick to point it out.

I'm sorry, but that's literally the straw clutching I'm referring to. Journalists rightly referred to the fact that white and green aren't traditional away colours for us (yellow and green yes), and people thought that shirt was some kind of gotcha. It's bollocks. Claim it's Nigeria inspired all you like, you're lying to yourself more than anyone else.

Ultimately, it may just be a piece of cloth, but a lot of fans are trying really hard to enjoy the football and attempt to forget we could be used to represent Saudi Arabia. So kitting us up in a uniform meant to represent them is just another excuse to draw a conscious or subconscious connection I'd rather ignore. I hate any new excuse, no matter how lazy, to talk about KSA instead of Newcastle - and everyone from the marketing executive to the tea lady could have predicted what would happen when the kit design got out, but they went ahead with it anyway.

You know what I find tragic about this whole thing?! Our first kit sucks again. Castore clearly doesn't do well with stripes.
The saudi kit I would prefer with green stripes. I also have to admit it doesn't grow well on me. Last week I didn't care, now I'm more "do we have to?" Just give it green stripes and we're all happy, apart from those who doesn't like gras at all.

Green pinstripes would have looked properly smart. Hibs have one for their away kit this season that looks good

Indeed. And it would clearly have a Newcastle "feeling" to it. Remember golden white? <awe>

I find you are reading what you want to read and not what was actually said. Tell me where I'm saying the shirt is Nigeria inspired rather than Saudi? I literally said claim it as a Nigerian theme as a protest. Also why change the reported narrative I pointed out? A journalist literally said we had "never" used green and white, yet you feel the need to then twist it into a me claiming it was "traditional" colour scheme.

Have your views on the matter, debate the matter but please don't outright twist things that are being said. 👍

Come on, that kit was barely green, and I haven't said anything about you saying traditional colours.

And to be honest I can't actually grasp your protest point, what are you protesting for? To be honest I don't really care, so I'll make this my last post on the whole sordid affair.
