It's nearly that time again where we are linked with every player under the sun. The Carroll / Austin saga will continue and hopefully we can ship out the "deadwood" in our squad.

I'll start - today we've been linked with Berahino (again).

I'd love to see us get a new first team LB and another CM. Tiote looks like he's running in treacle , Colback is just meh and Anita just isn't anywhere consistent enough and is too lightweight.

This. We look like we have goals in us, just need a better cm who can play a killer pass.

Plus a decent left back would mean a) we'd have more threat down the left and b) our CBs wouldn't continually be pulled out of position covering constantly.

Ideally another winger and striker but they can wait until summer, along with a new CB.

Can we sign someone English/English speaking who is a talker and a leader. I feel like we're missing a communicator both on the pitch and in the dressing room. Would be good to recreate the dynamic that a squad with Nolan, Barton, Smith, Saylor must have had.

I'd like to see us try and get Shawcross. Solid defender, would add much needed Premier League experience to the squad and he seems to be one of the main leaders in the Stoke squad.

doubt they'll sell their captain to a rival (if we improve )

and with the PL cash, it would take any club ridiculous money to part with a player, best start scouting the championship
