I'd hardly call it a 'breakthrough' when he was only playing when either Terry or Cahill or Matic got injured, he hasn't got into the starting XI on merit.
Third choice CB on the PL winning side is hardly a knock against a 20 year old <erm>

Exactly.

There is a reason he is at Chelsea. It's as if he was just some fella on the sideline that just went "what? who? Me!?" once a couple injuries went against them.

It's a premier league club, one that, if i'm not mistaken are premier champions and one of the most elite and best clubs in the world.

It's funny that everyone is fawning over this Scottish wonderkid being a coach at the Toon (and I hope he's f***ing awesome, it's a great move!) but seem to forget that every other club in the world has coaches, youth teams, academies as well.

Footballers don't always just appear out of the blue, or from a 7th tier team in France, or the depths of the Congo, sometimes, they are allowed to mature in reserve teams or on loan. <scratch>

He isn't getting premier league starts at 20 years old for Chelsea and slotted into a league cup final on f***ing accident.

Good grief. <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

We've good reason to fawn over a new coach coming from a proper club. Jeez, we've put up with some right duffers from Carver, Stone, Terry Mac etc .
As for the Chelsea youngster , his big chance will come on Terry's departure after next year. If Chelsea don't buy big then you're right. If they do I'm with The Deluded Pablo Diego Jose Francisco.

Zouma has done well. Instead of rushing out to buy a CB for cover like a lot of the top clubs do, they've made him third choice <scratch> I'd say that's a success at a team like Chelsea.

Zouma has played as many games as Rodwell and Sinclair did at Man City in their first season, <roll>

He isn't starting for Chelsea, thats my point, he's just a backup for when either Terry or Cahill get injured or get rested, and the only reason he started the league cup final was because Obi Mikel was injured and Matic was suspended, otherwise he'd of been on the bench and probably wouldn't of even gotten on the pitch.

So he's a third choice center back at a trophy winning, world renowned club at the age of 20, yeah what an arsehole, he's probably actually s***. Even though he's clearly an established defensive beast and future replacement for Terry. <ohnoes>

He is definitely one of the weakest of the bunch as well.

After mulling over hours and hours of match footage, discussing at length with my worldwide contacts and spending a few days running things over with my brilliant football mind. This is how I would definitively rank them with 100% accuracy. <diva>

1 ) Varane
2 ) Draxler
3 ) Lukaku
4 ) Zouma
5 ) Deulofeu
6 ) Marquinhos
7 ) Shaw
8 ) Pogba
9/10 ) Januzaj - Thauvin
Unbelievable amount of blatent trolling in there.

You're slipping. Trolling only works when it's not obvious that you're doing it.

No, I took liberty in my lead-up but the ranking is not entirely false. As is obvious it's all made up **** but I do watch a bit of Serie A (no one else does, look at the stadiums!) and I do genuinely believe Pogba is a bit of a Sissoko

Alright, he's really athletic, ok... and then what? He's not running track is he?

Hate being called a troll FYI, especially on a forum like this which has a relative core of consistent contributors, disagree, don't like me or whatever else but don't call me a troll, because that, i am not.

I have no idea what you're talking about...

I never said he was s*** or an a**hole, all i'm saying is that how can you call someone a success when he's only a backup/fringe player, you just cant.

Also, how do you know he's going to be Terry's successor? Chelsea could go out and buy another defender for all you know.

Do you watch the football? He was integral to Chelsea wining the premier league..

As far as buying another defender, maybe they will, but I wouldn't be too worried, again, being pushed out of Chelsea's XI isn't exactly a blemish on ones record

I'm hesitant to judge a player on one appearance but Zouma was awful against us at Stamford Bridge. A number of errors from him in the first half and we probably should have had a goal or two as a result. Instead we switch off from a corner and that's game over.
