West Ham Fans Thoughts On The Match

Post by Yacob »

I headed over to the Knees Up Mother Brown forum to ask the questions for this weekend's match. The questions were as follows:
1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
3 – What young players could make an impact?
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds?
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
10 – Scoreline prediction?

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
I realistically see us finishing around 8th place, Newcastle similar, 9th.
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
Carroll won't be sold in January, they will use him very often still and Valencia & Sakho on the side of him if anything
3 – What young players could make an impact?
Aaron Cresswell has a massive future ahead it seems, made a great start to his West Ham career.
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds?
I think so yes, there will still be sections with a bit of Atmosphere but it will die down quite a lot.
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
I would say Gazza, hilarious character in his day
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
Club captains are not always first choice so shouldn't be changed imo.
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
We was owned by a biscuit company not long ago, that didn't go so well.
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
Pardew, without hesitation. I enjoyed the Pardew years to be honest and took us to an FA Cup final
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
A club always underachieving of late probably due to the complete t*** of an owner.
10 – Scoreline prediction?
2-1 to us

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? top ten What about Newcastle? - yeah what about them
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? impact sub Is he likely to be sold in January? no
3 – What young players could make an impact? we dont play youngsters havent you heard
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds? no difference
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? beckham - cos he can pay the rent
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time? yes
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? what a poor question - choc hob nob the king of biscuits
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with? a hybrid of the two
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? **** club - **** fans - similar to us
10 – Scoreline prediction? 8-1 again

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
Both should be between 8th and 10th
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
Him and any one of the others would be a great partnership. If anything the current injuries has underlined that we need to keep him
3 – What young players could make an impact?
Cresswell has been a great signing
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds?
I was at a few events during the Olympics and the acoustics at the stadium were fantastic. I hope that somehow the club can group together enough like-minded supporters to generate a good atmosphere, although I'd stop short of a designated 'singing section' as it implies the rest of the stadium should sit on their hands
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Frank McAvennie, for all the eye candy he'd bring back (and hopefully a few of their mates)
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
Yes, a fantastic character to have around the club
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
Jaffa Cake, as no-ones quite sure if we're a long ball or passing team at the moment
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
Pardew's 1st season or two were mixed to say the least, but for the one great Premier season and FA Cup final he just shades it
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
I generally have a soft spot for Newcastle, although the fans' constant whinging and anti-cockney agenda is a bit wearing
10 – Scoreline prediction?
A bad time to be playing Newcastle, but if some of Song, Valencia and Downing are back I reckon 2-1 to us
east_hammer
1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
7th for us , Newcastle , 6th
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
He will fight for his place , not at all
3 – What young players could make an impact?
Im afraid none , Sam never seems to like playing the youngsters.
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds?
Not at all , the atmosphere was amazing at the olympics, dont discount the stadium , it will work,
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Alan Sherer , so I could watch MOTD in peace , as he woulkd be doped on ritalin and rohypnol.
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
no
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
custard cream
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
loved Parderw, espcially when he jumped the crowd , but Sam has built a team
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
outside toilet?
10 – Scoreline prediction?
you loose

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
Us 12th you 10th
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
Always handy to have in the squad, he came on against Villa and terrorised their defence, so I'd keep him.
3 – What young players could make an impact?
Cresswell is the best of our young players. Started his west ham career in a decent manner.
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds? The atmosphere isn't the greatest at the Boleyn anymore but the OS will be dreadful.
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
David Beckham. Always been my idol growing up.
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
I think someone like Nolan would be essential to a squad regardless if he's the official club captain, he's a natural leader. Will become a great coach/manager
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
What a **** question. Chocolate Digestive cos they're my favourites.
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
Big Sam. I cannot stand Pardew.
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
Oversized, self important, big headed, fickle c-unts (sorry)
10 – Scoreline prediction?
1-1
Geordie Hammer
1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Top 10 What about Newcastle?
Not fussed
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
No. why would we. we now have options up front. Although the Evening Chronicle would have you think he's coming back up north based on one picture he posted on Intagram
3 – What young players could make an impact?
Cresswell
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds? Can't see it being a problem. Atmosphere at most grounds in the premiership is dreadful anyway
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Kevin Keegan. My first football hero
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
I've long maintained that Noble should be captain. Nolan is a leader though and when in the right frame of mind is essential to the team. I recall him on the bench at Cardiff last season. He was more like a coach than a player.
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
As folks from Ashington would say, a herbnerb. Deeply satisfying with the ability to break apart easily
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
Not a big fan of either but I'd pick BFS over Sh*gger any day
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
the vocal minority ruin the clubs reputation….not helped by the Evening Chronicle and their anti-ashley agenda. Was never the same though after they removed the scoreboard above the Gallowgate end with the jumping men :scarfer:
10 – Scoreline prediction?
3-2 WH
Wildy
1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
Us 7th-10th. Newcastle 10th-15th.
2 – Now that you have a plethora of decent strikers, such as Sakho, Valencia, Zarate, what is Andy Caroll's place in the team? Is he likely to be sold in January?
A different option to have, we have no idea what our strongest partnership is yet. Sold? No chance.
3 – What young players could make an impact?
This season, probably none. Maybe Poyet in January with us losing a few players in the African Cup of Nations.
4 – With the stands being so far from the pitch in the Olympic stadium, will it affect the atmosphere at home grounds? The atmosphere isnt that great anyway, so it wont make much of a difference.
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Paolo.
6 – Should Nolan still be captain with his reduced playing time?
Club captain yes, a brilliant leader.
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
?
8 – We've both had/have the misfortune of being managed by Fat Sam and Pardew but which of the two would you rather have, I know ideally it would be neither but if you had to choose between the two who would you go with?
Sam, without a doubt.
9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
Always seem to think theyre a bit bigger than they actually are.
10 – Scoreline prediction?
If we have a few players back from injuries, 1 or 2-0 to us. If not, 0-0, or 0-1.

Seems like half the West Ham fans are w******.

Definitely the rudest responses we've had from any club's supporters bar Sunderland.

West Ham definitely have more than their fair share of complete pricks. Some of them were an absolute disgrace in Germany. Coming into our end during the match to try and start fights thinking they were part of green street or something. Even worse when women and children were getting caught up in it as well.

Image

A load of them in PE kits as well and their middle aged leader in that hilarious shirt <laugh>. Absolutely pathetic.

Got to say though, we were drinking with a few West Ham in Dusseldorf and they were canny as out. So its not all of them, they just seem to have loads of hooligans thinking its still the 1980's. Most of the proper West Ham football fans who weren't there for the fighting were embarrassed with their fellow supporters so its not fair to tarnish them all with the cronut section of their fanbase.
