While it is nice that the local press have stopped towing the line since they were banned, might as well have a discussion and poll on what has turned people against Pardew, I can't help but feel there are better reasons...

So if you are anti-Pardew, why so? Did the press play a role in it?

The option is there in case anyone hasn't been swayed by the anti-Pardew propaganda peddling papers.

Personally, I feel like a string of terrible results and performances may just have something to do with the hostility. Some people wouldn't be all too pleased by their team going from flirting with the idea of the top 5 to losing 11 of their next 16 league games (W4, D1, L11, 9GF, 29GA), losing 19 points on what were our neighbours in the table, selling our best player without replacing him (while already having a light squad patched over by loan signings), going out of the cup without a fight, showing no signs of the players owned by the club being able to perform or having the willingness to put a shift in, no sign of tactical improvement or a hint of ability to threaten from set-pieces, continually frustrating with team line-up and substitution choices and being told that we're incapable of independent thought.

Definitely the local press for me though.

Only the mackems below us in the form guide suggests results is a good reason. Pardew could probably get away with some measure of tactical ineptitude if he was also committed to the cause but it is painfully clear to everyone he has no loyalty or passion for the club, he's working for the yankee dollar only.

Having said that you can only work with what you are given and with a couple of exceptions our players are neither committed nor skillful enough for PL football. Ashley is to blame for that.

I was never a Pardew hater until the turn of the year. The results are not good enough, but even that wouldn't turn me against a manager. After all the players have let us all down as well.
That said, he keeps playing shola and Taylor there is no excuse at all for starting those two we have better who he is ignoring. It's time to pack your bags Alan, it's been fun but no more please we don't deserve players that don't or won't play for us. You go then the rest. New face at the helm needed.
