Yay Seattle. Love that city.

Well, what can you say? The Broncos appeared to totally freeze with nerves, like virgins at the High School prom! No other obvious explanation for a performance that abysmal!

From their very first play, a hilarious farce of a total f*ck-up snap, which saw the ball fly over Manning's shoulder and into their own end zone (they were lucky to get away with just a two point safety), disaster followed disaster for the hapless Broncos.

If we didn't already know they were gone at halftime (22-0 down when no previous Superbowl winners have ever recovered from more than a ten point deficit ) the first seconds of the second half removed all doubt, when the Seahawks returned the Denver kick off straight back for a touchdown!

Thereafter it was just a question of how many points the Seahawks would win by. At one point they even looked like they might record the first ever shut-out Superbowl victory, but Manning managed one touchdown pass, and the two point conversion to record a paltry 8 points. Not a lot of good when the opposition post over 40!

You have to give enormous credit to the Seahawks, who were fired up, highly motivated and intense. All three squads; Defence, Offence and Special Teams; played brilliantly and way in excess of the efforts of the opposition. It was just such a pity that the Broncos were so poor they never at any stage made a real game of it. This was supposed to be the match-up of the two best teams in the NFL. It was a one sided massacre, and quite frankly (unless you were a Seahawk fan) pretty grim watching.

And when you consider how young this Seahawks team is, and how dominant they have been all season long, it is difficult to see them failing to add to this first ever Superbowl trophy. Whereas you have to wonder if the elderly and much injured Peyton Manning will still be the Broncos QB next season.

A major disappointment for all those who were not supporting Seattle. The Bronco fans will have gone home gutted and shell-shocked and the neutrals will be disgruntled at the lack of a competitive and exciting game.

The team is so young it could dominate for a few years yet. Richard Sherman is the man also. That defence is just something else, the Broncos were getting hit so hard and so fast.

Last year's Superbowl (Baltimore Ravens v San Francisco 49ers) was a much, much better game to watch. Although the Ravens started by dominating and building a big lead, the 49ers (unlike Denver this year) were fighters, and really came back at them, making for an entertaining watch. The Ravens hung on, but only just.

There was as just as spectacular a kick-off return last year, too. And we had Beyonce at halftime!

Last years losers left the stadium with their heads held high. Not sure about the Broncos, this year!

I nearly joined my uni team to give it a crack, but it was my third year by the time it got off the ground so didn't really have the time, it something I'd love to have a go at though

I'd heard that uni's had started doing it, i'm assuming its a proper league?

I'd love to give it a proper go, but for fun rather than a 'serious' try out, as i havent the build for it properly!

I was at a college very near to the University of East Anglia and they had an American football team. I was drinking in one of the student bars one night and some cocky git had a go at me for something and when I ignored him he asked the infamous, "Do you know who I am?" and I just shrugged and said no. Once hell was reigned in he told me very loudly, "I'm the ****ing quarter back. The ****ing quarter back!" so I told him I bet my college could kick his teams ass in American football and the bet was on.

The next Monday I asked about 200 people at the college if they had ever played American football and after one positive answer I changed tactic and asked if they had ever wanted to play American football and finally was able to set up a team of about 30 people.

The team consisted of myself who had lived and played in the USA schools and one other person who had previous experience and 28 newbies so we practiced every lunch time and after college lectures we could be found talking tactics and going through them constantly on the sports field.

The coach of the UEA team allowed us to borrow some kit to practice in to get used to the weight as well as stay safe and after a month we were finally ready.

Long story short the game was very close and we ran a quarterback sneak from a conversion and scored two points to win in the dying seconds and the quarter back of the Uni team went nuts accusing us of cheating. When I told him it was perfectly legal and had been allowed in high school football rules (which the English league complied with) since the 1980's his coach agreed, patted me on the back and walked away.

Their quarter back never spoke to me again after that and seemed to go out of his way to avoid me

Cannot wait for this season. Think it's going to be pretty open in both conferences and, from a Broncos fan's viewpoint I can't wait to see how we stack up against the NFC West! Plus the AFC West is looking strong again; Chargers are looking good offensively although their defense still stinks, Raiders beat Seattle's starters in pre-season and seem to have had a good off-season in general and the Chiefs will always be tough to play at Arrowhead so NFC W vs AFC W should lead to a lot of good matches!
