You talk about balancing the books as if it is a small thing? Ashley has pumped about £160m in to the club since he has arrived that he didn't realise he would have to. Yes he should have done his due diligence before buying in the club, but to invest that much cash for a club you don't support is a big thing to do. Interest free as well, he can't make money from it, the only risk is losing money. When people say Ashley pockets cash from transfers, TV sponsorship etc. he is really taking back what he is owed.
I'm not thrilled about his reign either, but he's doing what I would probably do in his situation.
