So it follows I will be highly peed off if it is a Patriots - Seahawks Superbowl! Watch it bloody happen! <grr>

Last year's Superbowl was extreme, with Beyonce blowing all our fuses at halftime, and how! <love> But the result was sad. Broncos or 49ers to win this year, please!
I'm the only broncos fan in our family, the rest support the 49ers so that would be the perfect Superbowl :)

With Chris Harris tearing his ACL against the chargers our secondary is weak but hopefully Champ Bailey is up to full fitness (finally!) and can replace him but the Patriots are just as beat up with no decent wide receivers so he won't be as bad a miss as it could have been.

Either way, the championship games are possibly the match-ups every neutral wanted so it should be an awesome Sunday night/Monday morning <cheers>

Anybody able to give a quick background to why they enjoy watching this? I heard somewhere that in a 4 hour broadcast there's something like 20 minutes of actual play, maybe even less. What makes it worth watching for you?

Twenty minutes is way too low. But I admit highlights are better. It's very tactical as well as having big hits and some of the skill on show is amazing. Also when they show live matches they have 'redzone' where in the gaps between plays they show the scores from other matches, imagine in the PL had that.
I do watch full games, but whilst doing some work or something, i.e I work in the gaps. Originally I did that cos it's impossible with footy and then I got hooked.

Similarly to CoT, I find live games best enjoyed whilst casually doing something else, or with a group of mates where you can spend most of the time chatting.
Each game has 60 minutes of the clock running, and this stops when there is an incomplete pass, the ball goes out of play, a time out is called, 2 minute warning, penalties are called and when someone scores. Basically if a play is successful and there is no out of bounds the clock keeps ticking, and the team in possession has 40 seconds until they have to play the ball again. Each play generally lasts only a few seconds, but I've never put a stopwatch to how long the players are actually competing for throughout the game. I've heard it can be as low as 11 minutes. The biggest problem with the sport is how commercially driven it is, they actually take commercial breaks in the stadium, where all play stops so they can show ads on the TV. This makes it so slow, and why I only watch about 8 games a season, the dull games really aren't worth the time it takes.
BUT when the games are tight the 4th quarter can be amazing, and you can see some really crazy plays in the last few seconds. For me, this is what makes it worth watching and understanding the rules etc.

Yeah if you have no clue of the rules, there's no point watching it.

Don't think NE can come back from here. Brady upping his game but the moment may have passed.

Think the Seahawks will have em. Was going to back them when they were 11/2 second favourites but I don't follow this closely enough. One that got away.
