Re: Ashes 2013
Just. 5-0 still on
Re: Ashes 2013
That would be nice but doubtful I think 3-1 there is usually a draw in the series somewhere we'll see.
Re: Ashes 2013
I can't see Australia winning one, the weather will probably stop them getting whitewashed though.

Would someone who knows more about cricket than I do please explain why Root is in the England side rather than Compton?

Compton failed I'm the last series and due to his age is never a long term solution.tomtom94 wrote:Would someone who knows more about cricket than I do please explain why Root is in the England side rather than Compton?
Root did well at 6 and opens for county so they viewed him as a long term solution.
Just s**** timing as you don't do it right at the start of the ashes

Deja vu
Re: Ashes 2013
Absolute nightmare start. When was KPs last big score for England? Can't remember the last time he's really contributed to the team.

Re: Ashes 2013
Be tempted to put Root back down the order with Compton opening, see how Bairstow does this innings but never been too impressed by him.

Why am I reminded of the attempt a couple of years ago to make Ravi Bopara the long-term solution at number 3?Pardew's Legendary Specs wrote:Compton failed I'm the last series and due to his age is never a long term solution.tomtom94 wrote:Would someone who knows more about cricket than I do please explain why Root is in the England side rather than Compton?

Re: Ashes 2013
Trott you fool , you were looking at century there. Silly shot selection from him, uncharacteristic.
