I'm doing A-level at the moment and have read 'Predictably Irrational' and flirted with the idea of reading 'Freakonomics'.
The former was a great read. Really got me thinking.

How did you find Econ A-level out of interest??

I got a C in the end but am re taking the second year of College as I generally f***ed up. The macro was easier than the micro, always hated micro in comparison. Can't even remember what the questions were now!

I have 3 books. 'Who Runs Britain? - Robert Peston, 'The Worldly Philosophers' - Robert Heilbroner & 'A History Of Economics' - John Kenneth Galbraith

All great reads, Who runs Britain is an easier read whilst the other two are more in depth and are on many Uni reading lists apparantly. I've read freakonomics as well, found it helpful

I prefer macro at the minute. Macro is almost just common sense really but micro requires you to understand fully the different concepts and theory.

Quite enjoying it though (well at least, compared to Latin, French and History)

Yeah, I'm Year 12, so I can afford to just take it to AS, then get on with my other three subjects in year 13 without the distraction of bloody Demand and Supply

Mentioned it on not606 but George Orwell '1984' is a excellet read, and so is into the wild (there is a film based on it for you lazy people).

Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 nothing like las vegas but his wit is razor sharpe as always found this a bit hard going in places but worth it in the end

Hells Angels is a great shout.
The Gonzo papers are also canny (you can get them separately starting with the Great Shark Hunt or buy them as one big book now I believe).
Kingdom of fear is his second last published book before death & is also a great take on the world post 9/11 alongside Hey Rube which is a compilation of his articles for ESPN (sometimes about sports, often not!).
One of my personal modern favourites of his is the article written just after September 11th 2001, scary how true it was & would love to know his thoughts on the world today what with the Arab spring & current global occupy movements etc.
