The only argument Ronaldo has over Messi is that he has played in the PL. But having seen the way the likes of Silva and Aguero have settled into the league, I have no doubt in my mind that Messi could do the same.

Makes me laugh when people complain about loyalty...when Messi is loyal, people complain.

Messi has scored goals and played brilliantly against England's top sides. Of course he could play in England.

Doubt it.

Of course there are more physical games than others, but the fact is there's a limit to how physical teams can go. If they can't properly defend or beat Messi when he has the ball then shoving him off it and sending him flying is just gonna concede a foul.

Even against teams with big, robust players, his still uses his technique to dance around them and his footballing brain to find good spaces. Stoke is in fact an example in itself how brute strength alone is no match for technique and skill.

I prefer Ronaldo to Messi because he has power and aerial ability that Messi doesn't.

Interesting to note that even though Messi and Ronaldo are keeping up with each others goalscoring levels, Messi has 5 total assists alongside those goals whilst Ronaldo has zilch.

People say that Ronaldo is the more 'complete' player but I believe it's Messi. He is a scorer, creator and engine of the side.

You misunderstand me.
I'm saying the debate exists because CRonaldo has played for the two teams with the biggest fan base in the world, therefore more people to claim he is better.
For the record there is no argument in my mind as to how much better Messi is.

Ronaldo is an absolute phenomenal players and in many era's would be the best player in the world, Messi however in my opinion will end up being the best player ever to have played the game in the next 5 years.

This. Look at the way Silva, Aguero, Mata etc have fitted into the league. All of similar stature and all top players who have performed well.

I'm not sure which match it was, might have been Arsenal had someone man marking Messi. They were pushing him and snapping at him alot sometimes giving away a free. but that was in the middle of the pitch and wasnt that much of a threat.

For large amounts of time Messi was anonymous during the match, until the lad marking him got tired.Point is if you get someone like Yaya Toure on him, I think you would be able to make messi less of a threat.

In this debate it's worth remembering that Messi is playing a unique position in football, the only true false 9 IMO, he has had no references to learn the position and still scores so many himself. It's quite incredible.

Yaya Toure's a f***ing monster though, even if he could keep Messi quiet he'd only need to play him twice a season.
