The penultimate game of the 2014/15 season - and of John Carver's time in charge of United - got off to a decent start when Emmanuel Riviere fortuitously broke his Premier League duck with a two-footed fluke.
However the already-relegated home side recovered after the break to score through Matt Philips and a Leroy Fer cracker and leave Newcastle winless in ten games and in desperate trouble.
