Your Player Ratings vs Swansea

Post by Al-Calo »

Rate the players, leave a comment and they'll be collated for use in the TFI match report and database. The more people that leave ratings the better it will be. It's important that you don't exaggerate player ratings, if you do it defeats the purpose of us collecting the data, so be as objective as possible. Clearly ridiculous ratings aren't included, so giving undeserved 1s or 10s won't skew ratings. Also, use the order I've posted, as it's a lot harder to collect the data otherwise.

Don't just submit blanket ratings like "1 for everyone", the point of this is to rate individual performances.

Rate in multiples of 0.5 up to a maximum of 10 (7, 7.5, 8, etc). Anything else is rounded to the nearest .5 anyway.

Use this order. Please.

Krul -

Janmaat -
Williamson -
Coloccini -
Dummett -

Colback -
Tioté -

Obertan -
Sissoko -
Gouffran -

Cissé -

Ameobi -
Rivière -
Pérez-

Pardew -

Use the order above.

For consistency, please try to rate players roughly along the lines of this scale. 1s and 10s should be extremely rare and only for performances that could be considered among the best/worst of all time or the absolute best/worst that could be done.
10 - A godlike performance, such as getting a hat-trick of goals/assists or being utterly dominant at the back. This should be a rarity.
9 - Outstanding performance.
8 - Very good performance.
7 - Good performance.
6 - High average.
5.5 - Average average. Use this as the baseline.
5 - Low average.
4 - Poor, perhaps with the occasional bright moment.
3 - Very bad, several mistakes with little to no redemption.
2 - Horrendous, almost as bad as it is possible to perform.
1 - Among the worst performances of all time. This should be extremely rare.

He set up a goal and was an actual outlet. Maybe I'm too used to having Sissoko and Gouffran that looking like a footballer gets a 7 <laugh>

It just seems crazy to give someone that went invisible for a full 45 minutes a 7. <whistle>

Krul - 6 - Made a decent save and contributed to our point.

Janmaat - 4 - Pretty shocking defensively, offered nothing going forward really.
Williamson - 3
Coloccini - 3 - Joint rating for centre backs pretty much entirely for that first goal and general s****.
Dummett - 3 - Got done by Dyer constantly.

Colback - 4 - Poor.
Tioté - 6.5 - Probably our best player, certainly the most influential.

Obertan - 5.5 - Good assist, sort of anonymous besides a couple of other minor moments.
Sissoko - 4 - Did nothing.
Gouffran - 3 - Did less than nothing.

Cissé - 7 - Good finishes despite general lack of service.

Ameobi - 6 - Gave a bit more impetus to the team late on.
Rivière -5.5 - Just having a second striker changed the game a bit regardless of what he actually did.
Pérez - 5.5 - Willing runner.

Pardew - 2 - Poorly set up at the start, we still can't defend and have no game plan going forward.

Krul - 7 Good saves to deny Bony, massive contribution today.

Janmaat - 5 Looks okay going forward but still susceptible at the back
Williamson - 6 Solid, did well in the air and saved Colo when Sigurdsson was going through
Coloccini - 4 Awful, at fault for the first and was beaten far too easily too many times. It's sad that Saylor is becoming a better option
Dummett - 5 Okay, made a few nice interceptions

Colback - 4 Below par
Tioté - 7 Solid, kept hold of the ball well and set up a few nice attacks from nothing. It's obvious he's playing for a move though.
Obertan - 7 Good assist and looked dangerous going forwards. Should have done better with his early chance though.
Sissoko - 5 Average
Gouffran - 3 Awful, contributed nothing in either direction, needs to be dropped.

Cissé - 8 He is back to his best and set for his best season in terms of goalscoring, needs to start and needs more support to ensure he keeps scoring. He will fire us up the league with or without Pardew in current form.

Ameobi - 7 Good cameo, brilliant cross for the second, needs to start next game.
Rivière - 4 Didn't do much, should have scored the winner though.
Pérez- N/A

Pardew - 4 Better from him this week, but it could hardly get worse, needs to start dropping players out of form, like Gouffran and would earn a lot of respect if he drops Colo.

Krul - 8. Two fantastic saves which were just as valuable as Cisses goals.

Janmaat - 5. Good attack wise but very suspect defensively.
Williamson - 4. Not good enough.
Coloccini - 1. An absolute disgrace.
Dummett - 5. Probably our best defender once again but that really doesn't say much.

Colback - 2. Pathetic performance.
Tioté - 8. Our only true leader. He should have the armband not Titoe.

Obertan - 6. Good assist but not much else.
Sissoko - 2. Unforgiven to just give up trying like he did on Swanseas second.
Gouffran - 2. The invisible man.

Cissé - 9. Like against Hull he once again won us the points.

Ameobi - 7. Really impressive when he came on. Some good running and a great assist.
Rivière - 5. Didn't look up to it.
Pérez- N/A. Not on long enough to make an impact.

Pardew - 2. Cisse and Krul saved him from what should have been yet another defeat.

Krul - 8 Like Cissé, saved us from defeat

Janmaat - 3 learn how to defend some time this century please
Williamson - 3 Not PL standard
Coloccini - 3 Reverted to the Colo we had in his first season
Dummett - 4 Been our best defender for the past 2 games <worried>

Colback - 3 Should have been dropped
Tioté - 7 does what he does well. But needs better players around him

Obertan - 7 Did what was asked of a winger, set up a goal
Sissoko - 3 needs dropped from a great height
Gouffran - 2 Would rather Sammy starts and I don't even rate Sammy very highly

Cissé - 8 Boy done good

Ameobi - 7 See Obertan
Rivière - 5 Still struggling
Pérez - 5.5 didn't have long

Pardew - 4 had to start Cissé and did, Obertan also deserved a start. But still needs to drop some players.

To be fair, ignoring the context of Pardew being a horrendous man and manager, a point at Swansea is a decent result. Not amazing, but tolerable. In fact, I'd go as far as to say this is our only decent result of the season so far. Obviously, we need wins not draws, but Swansea are a reasonably good side. I didn't see the game, and we may have played awfully, but the result is OK.

If we beat Leicester it's not a bad point.

Krul - 7. Pulled off two vital saves

Janmaat - 6. Frustrating to watch
Williamson - 6. Too static.
Coloccini - 5. Sorry but way past sell by date
Dummett - 4. Could have slid in to prevent first Bony goal. Very naive still.

Colback - 5. Good tackler, that's all.
Tioté - 8. Effective but will pick up a ban soon. No surprise there.

Obertan - 7. When he does simple things like knock the ball ahead and run he's fine. Other than that scary.
Sissoko - 6. Poor show. Bundled off ball for second goal.
Gouffran - 4. Drop him Pards. Now.

Cissé - 8. Has his swagger back. Good for all of us.

Ameobi - 7. Decent runs. Great assist for goal.
Rivière - 6. Fluffed a clear chance before offside flag went up at end of game.
Pérez- 6.

Pardew - 4. How were we ever 5th under him ? ( Ba 16 goals and Cabaye helped).

Krul - 7 - Some fantastic saves, still worries me on crosses - Ki missed a sitter from a cross from about 4 yards out (he was offside anyway) but Krul was nowhere to be seen.

Janmaat - 3 - Poor.
Williamson - 3 - His usual slow, useless self.
Coloccini - 2 - Shockingly bad, didn't look arsed in the slightest.
Dummett - 5 - Best of a bad bunch at the back.

Colback - 3 - Rubbish.
Tioté - 6 - Put himself about but turns back too often having already beaten a man, really kills what little momentum we have going forward.

Obertan - 6 - Got in some great positions without creating too much but got a good assist.
Sissoko - 2 - Shocking.
Gouffran - 1 - Not even anonymous.

Cissé - 8 - Bailed us out of the s*** again, the first was a great finish and his movement was much better than Riviere's. Made a big difference.

Ameobi - 7 - Looked dangerous, great cross for the second goal.
Rivière - 4 - Missed a great chance.
Pérez - 5 - Looks a handful.

Pardew - 1 - The blind selection of Williamson, Colback, Sissoko and Gouffran is unforgivable. Now is the time to act, get him out so we have 2 weeks to get in a replacement and get the team ready for Leicester which already looks like one of those 'six-pointers' we're always hearing about.
