Coloccini's 'Dressing-Room Rant' at Pardew

Post by Speedo »

From the Mirror:

Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini aims dressing-room rant at teammates.. AND manager Alan Pardew

Toon skipper shocks colleagues by blowing his top after defeat at Stoke that makes it 11 defeats in their last 16 league matches

Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini let rip in a dressing room rant - with boss Alan Pardew coming in for most of the stick.

Centre-half Coloccini was furious after Saturday's defeat at Stoke, adding to the woes for the Toon in the past few weeks.

And the Argentinian let his feelings flood out with a tirade against the way the team, who have lost four games on the spin and 11 of their last 16 league matches, is playing - and how Pardew is managing.

Coloccini shocked team-mates with his blast, but he is the second Newcastle player to have words with the Magpies' manager - still banned from the touchline after headbutting Hull's David Meyler - in the last week.

Hatem Ben Arfa erupted at Pardew in the previous game - a 4-0 home loss to Manchester United - and was left on the bench at the Britannia.

Ben Arfa’s verbal attack is pushing him even further out of the door but Coloccini is a key and popular player, despite repeated links with a transfer home to Argentina, making the situation hard for Pardew.

One of the only players who actually care <applause>.

Fair enough there is nothing left to play for and hasn't been since Cabaye left, but f*** me this is depressing to watch now.

Sack Pardew, bring in a good manager and allow him to build an attacking brand of football with flair players.
It's not about money... It's about sending a message.

The dressing room has been lost, the fans and press are firmly against him, you'd imagine it is only a matter of time.

Sadly, I've got a feeling all of the dissenters will just be sold and Pardew will get in a bunch of yes men happy to play his s*** brand of football.

Good on Colo and Ben Arfa for having a go at the cronut. The fans, media and players hate him. He's poisonous at the club. He has to go. Pardew out.

What did he say?! Can't put an article like that with no quotes, with not even so much of an allegation as to what was actually said.
“When you’ve got the ball 65-70% of the time it’s a football death for the other team. We’re not at that stage yet but that’s what we will get to. It’s death by football. You just suck the life out of them.” - Brendan Rodgers 2012

"People talk about pressure, but for us it's just enjoyment" - Brendan Rodgers 2014

This. They should refuse to play against Swansea and instead go into the stands and join in with chants of Pardew out.

The way they're playing it looks like they already are on strike.

There wouldn't be any quotes, it's probably a 'dressing room source' who has told a journo. My guess would be somebody who has been around a bit, is/is connected to someone disenfranchised, has a good reputation with the national (but not necessarily local) press and might be a bit of a trouble-maker. Any ideas? I wonder, given that it has gone national before local, if it went via somebody like Jonas or someone outside of football. Colo's agent maybe, somebody like that.

Colo probably leaked it himself through his agent like you say, players do this sort of thing when they're disillusioned.

That is now two leaks from the dressing room. It is surely only a matter of time.

This would just be brilliant, I wonder if Pardew would still keep his job after this <laugh>

....until the end of the season, when Pardew sells the dissenters and replaces them with players who actually want to play for him.

To be fair, we all know Pardew has almost no control over transfers, so he'll be forced to try to make Remy Cabella or somebody defend. That'll go well.

If we go into the summer, sell Colo/HBA, will anyone want to sign for us?

Honestly they are the only two players with a European reputation that we own. If they go, we are in for a relegation year. The only solution is sacking Pardew. There isn't another choice. It's gone too far to simply sell the dissenters.

Debuchy? Santon? Cissé? MYM? At a push Tioté? I think its silly to say Colo/HBA are the only two we own with European reputation they might be the best of the bunch but they are not the only ones.

Well we are a Premier League club, so in theory Mike Williamson will have a European reputation. My point maybe a bit extreme but Colo/HBA are the most well known of our players. If they go, will we be able to keep the rest? Let alone buy new ones of similar quality, and replace Cabs/Remy. This summer is going to be awful if HBA/Colo/Remy/Debuchy all leave. It's possible they all will.

Yes but has Mike Williamson been described as the next Maldini and had reams of praise heaped on him by Mourinho?, Has Mike Williamson been constantly linked with a move to PSG?, Has Mike Williamson captained a side to a title win aged just 22?
My point is that the players we have are of high European standard and if we lose any of them it will be a blow, I don't see why people are contemplating Colo considering everyone up until recently has been resigned to losing him anyway.

In football we are going to lose players, its who we replace them with I fear
