Premier League Title Race Discussion Thread
Here's the fixtures for the 4 clubs between now and the end of the season, I'll update them as each week goes by, starting from the weekend of the 29th/30th March
City: 1st, P 37, 83 PTS, GD 63
Arsenal (A) - D 1-1
Southampton (H) - W 4-1
Liverpool (A) - L 2-3
Sunderland (H) - D 1-1
West Brom (H) - W 3-1
Crystal Palace (A) - W 2-0
Everton (A) - W 3-2
Aston Villa (H) - W 4-0
West Ham (H)
Liverpool: 2nd, P 37, 81 PTS, GD 50
Tottenham (H) - W 4-0
West Ham (A) - W 2-1
Man City (H) - W 3-2
Norwich (A) - W 3-2
Chelsea (H) - L 0-2
Crystal Palace (A) - D 3-3
Newcastle (H)
As the season draws to a close it's looking likely Liverpool are going to win the league, although given the twists and turns that have happened in recent years I'm ruling nothing out.
EDIT: Took Arsenal and now Chelsea out the running, no explanation needed.

Man C can lose to Liverpool and still win the league. I'm going for them.

1. City
2. Chelsea

4. Everton
I'd quite like that to happen.

Have Sky given up hope of Man Utd winning the title yet?
Kindly deeds done for free!

Chelsea. I haven't changed my view since the summer, but they can't afford another Villa result.

Chelsea to win it.

I thought Chelski before the season started and still do. They've got the most points on the board and the easiest run in.

Everton to overtake Arsenal at the death.

Re: Premier League Title Race Discussion Thread
Arsenal are out of it for me, by the time Ozil is back and firing they'll be too far gone. It's likely that Man City will put them out of their misery on Saturday, but it'd be great if they didn't; turns it into a 4 horse race and City lose their potential advantage from games in hand putting them 3 points ahead.
Chelsea are favourites for most it seems, and it'd be a nice way to welcome the Special One back, but the way Liverpool are going (won 8, drew 1 in last 9 PL games) I think they'll be keeping pace, as will Man City who have games again Villa and Sunderland in hand. Both City and Liverpool are out of Europe as well. Chelsea at the least have two games against PSG closely sandwiching a match against an in-form Stoke.
Liverpool have the 3 key matches to this title race though:
13 Apr - Man City at Anfield (which Google and LFC have down as a 13:37 kick-off...)
27 Apr - Chelsea at Anfield
11 Apr - Newcastle at Anfield (where they destroy us to win the title
)
Also it's probably worth keeping an eye on goal difference since I could easily see it going to it.
Man City +52 - 79F - 27A
Liverpool +45 - 84F - 39A
Chelsea +39 - 62F - 23A
Arsenal +19 - 55F - 36A

We can technically still cause an upset and finish 3rd.

Chelsea
City
Liverpool
Arsenal
Can't see Chelsea slipping up now, despite City's games in-hand. It's been a great title race to watch so far and has been a joy to see Man United fans come crashing down to earth.

If we could sew shut the mouths of every Liverpool fan forever then I would want them to win it as they are playing the best football. Still fancy Chelsea though. I could see City going to Anfield and losing, you never think a Mourinho team will lose a big game, even away from home.

Re: Premier League Title Race Discussion Thread
All my in-laws hail from Liverpool and the majority support the red half of the city so it would give me the ultimate pleasure of having Liverpool still in contention for the title on the last day of the season.
I'm sure they'd arrange a BBQ for the special occasion and we'd all crowd round the TV/Radio/Stream and then from out of nowhere Iron Mike would slam home the winner and they don't win the title.
I'd laugh my ass off as 12 months of 'title winner' references would make me go postal and I'm too pretty to go to prison.

I had this dream the other night that Man Utd pulled 12 points clear of us but we began to pull the points back in the run in and on the final day of the season we won and finished above them and Kevin Keegan ran onto the pitch and did several back flips and cartwheels before diving into the media and shouting down the microphones, "I love it! I love it when we beat them!"

If we have a hand stopping Liverpool and that beaver-toothed little racist from winning the league it will be close to the equivalent of us winning a cup for me.

You just know we'll go there and only need a point to stop them winning the league, and they'll batter us 6-0.MultipleJesuses wrote:If we have a hand stopping Liverpool and that beaver-toothed little racist from winning the league it will be close to the equivalent of us winning a cup for me.

Re: Premier League Title Race Discussion Thread
I hope Liverpool win. They're the most entertaining and it seems likely they can considering the form they're in and the fact they're hosting Chelsea and Man City in the run in.
