Your Player Ratings vs Sunderland

Post by Cal »

Rate the players, leave a comment and they'll be collated for use in the TFI match report and database. The more people that leave ratings the better it will be. It's important that you don't exaggerate player ratings (yes it's a terrible performance and derby loss, but try to be reasonable), if you do it defeats the purpose of us collecting the data, so be as objective as possible. Clearly ridiculous ratings aren't included, so giving undeserved 1s or 10s won't skew ratings. Also, use the order I've posted, as it's a lot harder to collect the data otherwise.

Rate in multiples of 0.5 up to a maximum of 10 (7, 7.5, 8, etc). Anything else is rounded to the nearest .5 anyway.

Use this order. Please.

Krul -

Debuchy -
Williamson -
Taylor -
Santon -

Anita -
Tioté -

Sissoko -
Ben Arfa -
Sammy -

Shola -

De Jong -
Dummett -
Marveaux -

Pardew -

Use the order above.

For consistency, please try to rate players roughly along the lines of this scale. 1s and 10s should be extremely rare and only for performances that could be considered among the best/worst of all time or the absolute best/worst that could be done.
10 - A godlike performance, such as getting a hat-trick of goals/assists or being utterly dominant at the back. This should be a rarity.
9 - Outstanding performance.
8 - Very good performance.
7 - Good performance.
6 - High average.
5.5 - Average average. Use this as the baseline.
5 - Low average.
4 - Poor, perhaps with the occasional bright moment.
3 - Very bad, several mistakes with little to no redemption.
2 - Horrendous, almost as bad as it is possible to perform.
1 - Among the worst performances of all time. This should be extremely rare.

Debuchy - 3
Williamson - 3
Taylor - 3
Santon - 2

Anita - 4
Tioté - 5

Sissoko - 3
Ben Arfa - 4
Sammy - 7. The nearest thing to a bright spark we had all match, so obviously Pardew took him off at half time.

Shola - 1

De Jong - 5. Got into some good positions, was obvious he hasn't played all season. Infinitely better than Shola.
Dummett - 5
Marveaux - N/A

Pardew - 1. Ridiculous tactics, ridiculous substitutions, ridiculous face.

Krul - 5

Debuchy - 3 - Borini had the beating of him all game. Seems to think it being a derby gives him license to go around booting people for no reason.
Williamson - 4
Taylor - 4
Santon - 4

Anita - 4
Tioté - 4

Sissoko - 4.5
Ben Arfa - 5
Sammy - 6 - Only player to come out with any credit.

Shola - 5

De Jong - 4
Dummett - 3
Marveaux - 3

Pardew - 3 - Cowardly tactics. He seems to think that because it's a derby there's no point trying to actually pass the ball.

Krul - 0.

Debuchy - 0.
Williamson - 0.
Taylor - 0.
Santon - 0.

Anita - 0.
Tioté - 0.

Sissoko - 0.
Ben Arfa - 0.
Sammy - 0.

Shola - 0.

De Jong - 0.
Dummett - 0.
Marveaux - 0.

All gutless. Bottled it once again. Yes its not all down to the players but f***ing hell at least put some sort of effort in.

Pardew - Not even good enough to get a rating of 0. Anyone who approaches a game how he did is severely out of depth. Its not all his fault, the board have f***ed him over but at the end of the day if he had any self respect, pride and decency he'd walk. Just Pardew leaving wouldn't make a lot of difference but its a start. The main problem is that the cancerous owner slowly killing our club. Until he goes we'll never win anything, in fact we won't even have the ambition to even attempt to win anything. We've all known it for years, this transfer window and today is just the tip of the iceberg. We need to rid the club of this cancer, sadly though there isn't an awful lot we can do. I for one won't be suffering in silence though, I'll fight to save the club I love. Ashley out. JFK out. Pardew out.

Krul - 3 Poor

Debuchy - 2 Shambolic
Williamson - 2 Disgusting
Taylor - 4 Slightly less s*** than everyone else
Santon - 2 Mifune

Anita - 4 Shouldn't have gave away the pen
Tioté - 3 Can't tackle

Sissoko - 1 Not a footballer
Ben Arfa - 6
Sammy - 7

Shola - 1

De Jong - 5 Got the ball in good spots then f***ed around with it
Dummett - 4 Not as s*** as Santon
Marveaux - 6

Pardew - 1 I hate Alan Pardew with a f***ing passion, the man is a slimy, lying, arrogant cronut. Quite apart from that he is also one of the worst managers in the league. His inability to organise or motivate a team has never been more apparent. Starting Shola Ameobi, a man who hasn't scored a league goal in over a year, on his own up front defies any sort of conventional logic. Playing long ball against two defenders who are more than happy, and capable, to deal with that sort of s**** all day is equally moronic. The list of mistakes and failings goes on.

Taking Sammy Ameobi off.
Putting Ben Arfa on the left.
Not starting MYM.
Santon and Sissoko being allowed on the pitch.
Sissoko and Shola playing the full 90.
Only giving Marveaux 15 minutes.
Not motivating the players at all at half time.

Krul - 4 Poor

Debuchy - 4 Poor
Williamson - 4 Too many long balls
Taylor - 4 Poor
Santon - 3 Shockingly bad, for once hes deserving of low ratings

Anita - 5 Stupid decision for the pen, was isolated for most of the match, we should maybe try him in Cabayes old role pushed further forward where he can affect the game more.
Tioté - 4 Shockingly bad

Sissoko - 2 <puke>
Ben Arfa - 4 Poor
Sammy - 6 The bright spark from the first half, can't believe Pardew got him mixed up with his brother when making the sub.

Shola -1 Never play for this club again you pathetic cronut

De Jong - 5 looked promising, linked play well & got in some good positions. May do well against different opposition
Dummett - 3 s*** player
Marveaux - N/A Hes alive!!!!!! Needs to be a starter

Pardew - 2 Piss poor.

Krul - 6. Didn't make any visible errors, nice stop on Altidore, but shouldn't have conceded 3. s*** defending was to blame more than bad goalkeeping.

Debuchy - 3. Awful, lunging, heartless performance. We have no replacement for him though apart from MYM who Pards just won't play.
Williamson - 3. f***ing horrendous, back to Willo's favourite of hoofing and getting caught on the break.
Taylor - 3.5. Complete joke, but also let down by Tiote not marking who he was meant to several times.
Santon - 2. Easily one of the poorest Toon performances I have seen in a long time. Nothing positive - skewed passes, s*** set pieces, horrendous defending.

Anita - 3. Idiotic foul for the penalty and was completely bypassed in midfield.
Tioté - 3.5. Not as bad as Anita, but didn't mark his man when he had to. Says a lot that he had our most promising shot of the game.

Sissoko - 3. Awful. Horrendous footballer, horrendous passing, can't even do his "lung-busting counter attack" runs properly.
Ben Arfa - 4. Trading on past glories. It's all well and good to jink the ball around if you do something with it (ahem, Johnson). Didn't help that Pards played him on the left.
Sammy - 6. The only bright spark in the game. And of course he was taken off.

Shola - 2. Laughably bad. Literally not a striker, not a footballer. I love the guy's personality and his loyalty but maybe we should consider whether that is because NO OTHER CLUB WOULD GIVE HIM A LOOK IN.

De Jong - 4.5. Harsh to judge him on what must have been a horror debut but he did get into dangerous positions. Don't think much of his shooting though.
Dummett - 3.5. Better than Santon, but at this stage that was like being the tallest hill in the Netherlands.
Marveaux - 3.5. He's back! And suddenly I realise why he wasn't in the team!

Pardew - 2. I feel sorry for the guy in the situation he's in, but frankly if you can't stand up for yourself against the small teams because the players can only get themselves motivated for the big games...well maybe it's time you reevaluated your career choice.

Krul - 5

Debuchy - 2 - Only saved from a 1 by some decent attacking play. Awful defensively.
Williamson - 3 - Awful CB pairing which I hope I never have to witness again.
Taylor - 4 - See above.
Santon - 1 - He was destroyed all game defensively and offered nothing going forward.

Anita - 4 - Passing wasn't at his usual standard and was dominated and outnumbered for most of the game.
Tioté - 5 - A few good things but again was outnumbered for the majority.

Sissoko - 3 - A few good runs, but again absolutely zero good end product.
Ben Arfa - 4 - Offered slightly more than Sissoko. Was outnumbered for the majority of the game and was hampered by the immobile Shola,
Sammy - 6 - The only bright spark for the game. Pardew should be sacked simply for taking him off and leaving his brother on.

Shola - 1 - Should never play for the club again.

De Jong - 5 - Positionally very good, but clearly lacked match fitness. I think he and Remy could make a very good partnership.
Dummett - 4.5 - Not much of a chance to do anything good or bad, but got skinned far too easily by Johnson.
Marveaux - N/A - Wasn't on for long enough to judge properly, but he should be starting in the number 10 position. The only player we have in the squad who can be anything close to Cabaye.

Pardew - 1 - s**** team selection, s**** formation, s**** tactics, s**** substitutions. He just does not understand the derby.

Krul - 5

Debuchy - 4 Borini and Altidore managed to torment for pittys sake
Williamson - 3 Almost as bad as Santon, cant think of one thing he did right
Taylor - 4 As above but made one last gasp decent block so gets an extra mark
Santon - 3 A near horrendous display

Anita - 4 Lacked composure which is normally his biggest redeeming quality
Tioté - 5 Meh, not totally abysmal

Sissoko - 4 Gets in the right places so he must have a football brain, though I can only imagine he took a severe clout to the head at some point in his life to have so serious retarded the rest of his decision making abilities....I mean what the hell was that blast across the six yard box in the 1st half when Vurnon could of walked it in?!?!
Ben Arfa - 4 He has pace and skills but always plays the game at a snails pace....if he had half the directness of Johnson we would of been laughing. That third goal <neg>
Sammy - 6 Our best player for the time he was on the pitch, didnt see enough of the ball to warrant a 7 as Willo continued time after time to treat the ball as if it was a WWI howitzer shell but surely nobody in their right mind would sub him at half time, would they?

Shola - 5 I'm probably biased, but he did what he could. Formation and tactics were horrendous. If you play Shola you play him in a standard 4-4-2 with the other striker close to him. Yet we played most of the game as a 4-2-3-1 with the expectation of him being mobile. He isnt, tailor your tactics accordingly to him playing or dont play him Pardew you idiotic wankstain. It aint rocket science.

De Jong - 5 Got in promising positions, but had the composure of a cat in a hailstorm. Willing to forgive that given he's had limited game time this season
Dummett - 5 Better than Santon. But not by enough
Marveaux - 6 We started moving the ball more quickly and competently once he was on.

Pardew - minus 12. Tactics were beyond nonsensical. Didnt adapt. Left his subs too late (Santon should of been saved from himself at the latest at half time) and TOOK SAMMY OFF WHEN HE WAS OUR BEST PLAYER!!!!!!!!!! Had no positive impact on the game and numerous detrimental impacts through terrible decisions or lack thereof when we were getting passed off the park

Krul - 6 . Saved a couple of certain goals

Debuchy - 5 bereft of simply getting ball into box
Williamson - 6
Taylor -6
Santon - 4 Johnson was always his worst nightmare

Anita - 3 TO ALL THOSE WHO THOUGHT CABAYE GOING WAS OK , WATCH AND WEEP.
Tioté - 7

Sissoko - 6 Awful end product
Ben Arfa - 6 Should watch what Johnson did today
Sammy - 6

Shola - 4

De Jong - 6 Will learn to stop taking extra touch
Dummett - 6 for that tackle on the time-waster
Marveaux - 5

Pardew - 3. Johnson was allowed to control game. As for Shola starting this really must stop. Any one of our youngsters could put in a better shift. Poyet better than Pards by a country mile.

Taylor, Santon and Shola should be nowhere near the starting lineup. I couldn't give a s*** if we sold Santon and Saylor in summer, Shola will hopefully go. Santon has been poor all season, rarely looking anything better than average. Saylor has regressed massively. I even question why we persevere with HBA.
