Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Post by Heisen »

Thought it would be good to have a thread for today where all the incomings, outgoings, various rumours can be posted.

Prepare yourself for the disappointment of us signing nobody :( local journos are going down the "quiet day at NUFC", "nobody in, nobody out" route. Hopefully that changes, but I can't see it.

Major to moderate transfers thus far:
Morgan Amalfitano [Marseille - West Brom] Loan
Marko Arnautovic [Werder Bremen - Stoke] Undisclosed
Lee Camp [Norwich-West Brom] Free
Tiago Ilori [Sporting Lisbon - Liverpool] £7m
Kaka [Real Madrid - AC Milan] Free
Adrian Mariappa [Reading - Crystal Palace] Free
Victor Moses [Chelsea - Liverpool] Loan
Peter Odemwingie [West Brom - Cardiff] £2.25m
Mesut Ozil - [Real Madrid - Arsenal] £42m
Mamadou Sakho [Paris Saint-Germain - Liverpool] £18m

I just saw Frank Lampards ex jog past me on the way into work.

She's still 'do-able'.

What a f***ing embarrassment this club is <laugh> it'll be interesting to see our attendance against Hull.

I love supporting NUFC <awe>

We're so full of excitement and are so forward thinking. Add to that our year on year progression, clubs should be jealous of us.

I imagine it wont really drop that much. If anyone was thinking about packing in going to matches because of a lack of signings they would have done it already I think. The atmosphere might be a bit poisonous if we sell Cabaye though. <erk>

The last time we played up Hull in September after a summer of negativity we lost. Everything feels so similar to how it did when we got relegated. Ashley doesn't seem to have a clue how to run a football club. The main example for this is hiring Joe kinnear twice. He must be the worst DoF ever to say his only success has been signing Loic Remy on loan. Surely he was set a target when he started.

Ben Smith, BBC Sport
GOMIS BLOW FOR NEWCASTLE
"Newcastle will not be signing Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon today. They have tried twice to sign the striker this summer, but without luck.

"Having also attempted to sign Darren Bent, who chose Fulham, it has been a frustrating transfer window for all those at St James' Park. There have been no further bids for Yohan Cabaye but that may change if Arsenal miss out on Mesut Ozil."

Another not quite over the line then?

According to Lee Ryder we were also looking at Sakho before kinnear arrived. The anger at appointing Kinnear has been building up inside me all summer and will probably reach its climax tonight. Why the hell is he our DoF? Why?!???!?

Stoke signed Austrian international striker Arnautovic from Werder Bremen last night.

No matter how much I say it to myself I still can't get over the fact we haven't signed a single senior player this window. We're a premier league club for f***'s sake, how can anyone expect us to progress without signings?

I love this shiny new thread. It definitely has more of a "deadline day feel" about it. Much more so than the standard transfer thread <gent>
