Match days thread - Burnley v NUFC
Sunday sees Newcastle face The Clarets at Turf Moor in a Noon kick-off, shown live on Sky Sports.

The Magpies will wear their yellow change kit.

Coral rate an away win at 23/10 with a Burnley success priced at 27/20. The draw comes in at 21/10 with 0-0 13/2.
Burnley have scored exactly one goal in each of their last five home meetings with Newcastle. The odds on them doing that again are 31/20.
Newcastle win 1-0, Wilson scorer is 16/1.
NUFC: Speaking on Friday, Steve Bruce confirmed that Jamaal Lascelles had suffered a suspected stress fracture in his foot and would be missing on Sunday. Depending on the results of further scans, his season could be over.
The ailments that prevented Andy Carroll, Ciaran Clark, and Federico Fernandez from featuring against Spurs have eased.
Isaac Hayden and Fabian Schar Miss out, while it doesn't sound like Ryan Fraser will be risked.
Callum Wilson will be in the squad after training without incident this week. We've failed to win any of the seven games he's missed through injury.
BFC: Robbie Brady, Kevin Long and Ashley Barnes miss out but Erik Pieters and Phil Bardsley are available again.
After a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at Turf Moor in last January, Sean Dyche's side lost to Manchester City and then drew their next five PL home games, against Brighton, Fulham, West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City and Arsenal.
Their record of conceding 16 PL goals at home this season matches that of Chelsea and is only bettered by Manchester City (13) and Spurs (14).
Referee: Anthony Taylor - a quick return to match action involving Newcastle after controlling our 0-3 loss at Brighton.
Mancunian Taylor's only other Magpie shift this season was the 1-2 home defeat by Leeds United.
He also took charge of our most recent victory at Turf Moor, a 2-1 success back in November 2018.

Massive massive game considering Fulham result last night. Really need in my view pick up at least a point here to move at least a two fame gap between ourselves and Fulham.
Obviously a win would be brilliant and would definitely pull Burnley back in

Re: Match days thread - Burnley v NUFC
Yep huge game, anything less than a win is a disappointment. Must capitalise on the advantages Fulham have given us - they should be dead and buried at this point.

I've got my Covid jab at 11:30 so I'm missing this one unless I get back quickly. Normally that would annoy me but it's been a painful season.

Burnley will be saying the same . I'm just hoping we don't go and do the usual surrender . If we don’t get something today then the improved performance and point v Spurs is meaningless. There’s no point turning it on for a game against one of the top sides but then slumping to defeat against teams like Brighton, Palace, Sheffield Utd etc etc.

Re: Match days thread - Burnley v NUFC
This game is huge imo. Burnley win and they are all but safe, if we win then they are pulled right back into it and it'll be no bad thing to have another team involved in the scrap at the bottom.
It'll no doubt be tight and probably scrappy, I just hope that some of the more encouraging performances from the Spurs game are taken into today. Pleased to see Murphy and Ritchie remain in the WB positions but I feel for Willock - he's looked good when he's played.

Re: Match days thread - Burnley v NUFC
This. It's a shame Willock missed out.. I did want to see him start over Longstaff/Shelvey as he gives us so much energy, legs & pace in the middle. But he proved to be a good impact sub when he came on against Spurs so if he does the same again today & contributes with a goal/assist then great. If ASM & Wilson are fit enough.. why didn't at least one of them start over Gayle?? Good too see Murphy & Ritchie keep there places as they were both excellent against Spurs. I hope Bruce doesn't leave it too long to make changes & even if it's a scrappy 0-0 after an hour if things anit working put Wilson / ASM on to go for the win.. I don't want ASM going in the last 10 or 5 mins & Carroll coming on in the 92nd minute as a time wasting sub. We need a win.. but sadly I feel Bruce will be happy with a point.Crouching Shola Hidden Talent wrote: Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:24 am This game is huge imo. Dubravka's distribution is awful. He constantly kicks long straight to the opposition putting us under pressure.
