With the exception of the Italian one, this. The American national anthem fits with 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas' for half the time. <disgrace>

I watched the Chelsea away game in a pub in Durham last season and when Hazard scored, a lass with a thick Mackem accent screeched "GEEEEERRRRRIIINNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! Who's he?"

If it's a boy scout let them pack your bags and when it comes to paying tell them you don't advocate child labour but doing a good turn is fine.

Also, um... maybe don't watch the Derby on Saturday :bandit:

I know the train ticket thing really pales into insignificance compared with the other parts of your day but if you & your bro are quite wanting the fine back the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago (£20 fine for 5 seconds in 1st class) and I wrote a letter which I have on file and got £18.50 of it back. It would be a pleasure to PM it to you...I'm quite proud of it.
<laugh> I didn't watch but that doesn't appear to have helped. Unless we would have lost 10-1 if I had <scratch>

As for the train ticket thing, thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I appear to have lost the receipt thing they gave me (I had to sign a form to confirm that i'd been fined etc). Doubt i'd have any joy in appealing without that.

But well done on getting your cash back from those thieving barstewards! <ok>

University and College Union strikes. There have been at least 3 this year and I'm losing lectures that I've paid for because of them. And the lecturer who sends out emails to let us know is a cronut and opens with "as you will be aware, the Univeristy [sic] & College Union, Unison and Unite have called a strike..." every single time. <fist>

The NUFC section of the BBC website, for having the same article by Robbie Savage about how Everton get the best out of Romelu Lukaku up on our section since October last year. The only reason it's there is because they stuffed us, why put it up for us to read in the first place and why leave it there for 4 frickin months?!

I work (non-academic thank f***) for a Uni but I'll be in work on Thursday. I don't see what the Unions hope to achieve. The pay offer is done and dusted as far as the Uni is concerned. 1% is s*** due to rises in the cost of living, but at a time where the council near me announced 1000 job losses I think I've got it okay personally.

As for lectures, I'm sure you'll get by without them <ok>
