Don't forget that the club always pays all of the fee upfront in one payment so in terms of hard cash now, the club is in a fairly unique position of being able to offer that.

That's true OT. Still far too low for them to consider even if it was cash up front. I'd hazard a guess that they may start to listen at £5/6m upfront. I really don't think they'll value him as low as €6m.

Clearly they want around 10 million for him. Now I recon we'd go no further than £7m especially now that this de Jong bid has been lodged.

Seems to be a fair bit of negativity surrounding our low bid . It's not that insulting. It's just a bid to test the waters and no doubt if we're serious enough we will go up. Lille are hardly going to be so offended by it that they refuse to deal with us.

Minimum release fee's inserted when the contract was signed are very different. Would be silly to compare then. Same with Ba at the minute.

Confirmed by the Lille boss. Giving this and de Jong their own threads as I have a feeling they will go on for some time, and are big enough stories to be separate from the Carvery.

i wouldnt exactly say £4m is derisory if they value him at £6m?

Strange wording if we're only 2m off really. Being two thirds of the way there is hardly 'derisory'.

There aren't any quotes about Chelsea either. They are getting like Colin and just making claims. They didn't get this de Jong news until SSN broke it so I don't think they are that 'ITK'
