Looks like Doucoure to Everton is to be confirmed any minute. That midfield could be quite interesting this season.

I've mentioned it before I think Everton on ''paper'' have the best midfield outside of the usual top 6 (maybe apart from Wolves) with Doucoure as a box-to-box Yaya Toure-lite beast, Allan as a defensive/holding technician maestro and James as the South American classy playmaker with flair & technique. I would have taken all of them.. mainly James.. imagine him with Miggy / ASM and Wilson

If Carlo wasn't there manager they wouldn't have gotten Allan or James.. hopefully it works well for them because IF they gel as a team they will be a darkhorse to get into the top 6. Richarlison and Dominic Calvin-Lewis are quality upfront.. Digne at LB is classy too.

I've seen talk of a 4231 with those three new midfielders, Richarlison on the left and DCL up front. I wonder if they could change that to a narrow diamond with Allan holding, Docoure and Gomez central, and James in behind Richarlison and DCL as forwards. Could be exciting.

Would be a pointless signing for them. They have got zero creativity in the side, their most creative player against Everton was Harry Kane. They've got a below average midfield and their wingers have no interest in creating chances for other people, just trying to score themselves.

To be fair, Kane is literally Tottenham's only out and out striker. Spurs fan I know was very disappointed that we beat them to Wilson.

I don't know, they're on the fringes of the Europa League and he could propel them to Champions League level. It's rolling the dice but I don't think it's stupid. At £20m for the season, it's probably less than the additional income they'd get from finishing 4th vs. 5th with Champions League + Premier League money. So it's a gamble, but it could be a very smart one if it makes that marginal difference.

Dele Alli isn't good enough, offers very little. They have zero creativity, Son and Lucas are headless chickens and have got no interest in creating for the team only trying to score themselves. Their midfielders are largely defensive players with Ndombele and Alli underperforming and Lo Celso still coming back in.
