He could even rival Janmaat for the BR slot

If we get another centre back, and a winger, I'd be absolutely delighted.

Given the things that people who watch him on a regular basis have been saying, I'm really hyped for this lad, possibly even more so than Mitrovic.

Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
Mbemba has been one of the best defenders I've witnessed in Belgium over the past decade. Last season it became clear to me that he's way too good to play in Belgium; always superior on the pitch. Pretty sure that English football will suit him very well. He can also play as a defensive midfielder by the way... Have fun with him, he'll be missed over here.

Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
You should; defenders like him are harder to find than a striker like mitrovic. Also, don't worry about his age, that has been sorted out in Belgium a while ago. He's born in '94. But even if he was 27, he'd be worth the amountMinty Fresh wrote:Given the things that people who watch him on a regular basis have been saying, I'm really hyped for this lad, possibly even more so than Mitrovic.

Anderlecht is rond met Newcastle United over de transfer van Chancel Mbemba. De Congolese verdediger moet enkel nog zijn medische testen afleggen. Dat doet hij morgen, vrijdag wordt hij dan voorgesteld aan de fans.
They are going to introduce him to the fans on Friday. Tomorrow he'll have his medical test according a belgian website.

Best signing so far
Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
Quite excited about this Mbemba. Haven't seen him play but everyone has said very good things so far.
You could say he's possibly the best signing so far considering how important reinforcing the centre back position is. Defence has been our weakest area even before Wijnaldum and Mitrovic were signed.

We still need one more imo but I can't see it happening unless we sell someone. We have 5 CB's if you can class Dummet as one (not including youth).
At least we're only 2 injuries away from Willo playing now rather than just the one.

Well Dummett is better at CB so i hope so.Over The Line wrote:We still need one more imo but I can't see it happening unless we sell someone. We have 5 CB's if you can class Dummet as one (not including youth).

Don't understand this 'one injury away from willo' thing i keep seeing either:
Colo - Saylor
injury
Colo - Dummett
injury
Dummett - Lascelles
injury
THEN Willo gets pitch time (unless you play a youngster, which i probably would)

I think it's because last season under Pardew/Cardew, it was Colo & Willo even when Dummet was fit. It's hard to shake the fear that some things won't change this season.Beatski wrote:Well Dummett is better at CB so i hope so.Over The Line wrote:We still need one more imo but I can't see it happening unless we sell someone. Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
I fear willo's 's experience would give him the nod over lascelles. Maybe the latter is not that great but at least it's an unknown. The certainty of Williamson's impending mistakes when he is on the team sheet is awful

Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
This is all on the assumption that Willo is the last in the pecking order, but if the past few years are anything to go by, there's no guarantee of that being the case at all.Beatski wrote:Well Dummett is better at CB so i hope so.Over The Line wrote:We still need one more imo but I can't see it happening unless we sell someone. Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
I'll start worrying about Willo if he's offered a new contract, if he isn't he'll be gone in January at the latest.
I'm pretty confident that McClaren has seen enough to realise that Willo isn't up to scratch to play the way he wants.
