Re: Ashes 2013
This is just about the time where I see the reasons why I love test cricket so much.
England bat on tomorrow - but how long for? Will a lead of 300 be big enough for Australia not to reach, but leave it any longer for a, if possible 350 lead are we leaving enough time to take eleven wickets.
I hope that Bell and Broad can both get themselves in tomorrow, and bat on to lunch. Should either wickets fall then, we should be in better position to bat on through with Swann, Anderson and Finn and be able to add runs to the board through having a Bell or Broad scoring runs to ease that tale through.
Losing Bell, even Broad early tomorrow morning without getting considerably nearer that 300 mark will leave the bowling attack a lot of work for them to take eleven wickets for sub 300.

Bell
. He's my favourite player, hope he gets a big hundred tomorrow.
I can't believe people are criticising Broad for not walking, it's an Ashes test not a charity barbecue. The umpire's decision is final, you can't stand your ground if you're wrongly given out (as Trott found out yesterday) so you shouldn't be expected to walk if you're wrongly given not out. Michael Clarke should be getting more criticism for wasting his challenges in the first place, I missed the first one but the second was a complete waste, it was miles down leg, I wondered at the time if it would come back to haunt them. Overall the umpiring has been pretty poor in this test, I don't see how the third umpire could overrule the onfield umpire when the technology wasn't available for Trott's dismissal. Agar should've been given out stumped too, then the glaring error with Broad today.
We should win from here, 260 is a big chase on that wicket, especially with Swann in your attack, and we should get over 300. Even if we declare at lunch that should be a 350+ lead with five sessions left in the game. Excellent day for England.

Re: Ashes 2013
We only need ten wickets AC
And if we get a lead of 300, I'd declare. Give them something to chase, don't play too safe like we usually do.
Broad
Most players wouldn't have walked, especially given the match so far and its importance.

Eleven wickets
Wouldn't say most players would have walked. Very few given the competitive nature, and position of test that his side found himself in. Possibly in some meaningless Winter series out in Mipur. Nice to think you would uphold the fine morals of the game, but c'maan, let's get real. Competitive athletes will take as much advantage as they possibly can. Good on Broady

Lead of 350 min before declaration around 2.30 if they can bat on would leave 4. 1/2 sessions!
If we need more than that then they have probably chased down the total
Re: Ashes 2013
Australia couldn't last more than a day in the first innings and with our attack they shouldn't be able to last more than 4 sessions unless they play excellently and we bowl atrociously. They only thing I'm worried about is this thunder storm and what time it hits.
I think we"ll lose wickets early today anyway so may not have a decision to make

Part of me is hoping for another...
The other part doesn't want the drama, and just wants a nice quick win.
