Re: Holidays
Made it to Tours yesterday evening and lobbed bags into the hotel room to grab a bite to eat and explore.
Nice city, the old town is lovely and packed full of bars and restaurants but opted instead for a bar right on the banks of the Loire and it was awesome. Food was fresh, tasty and cheap, spoilt with choices for beers and wines.
Wandered back through the old town after and then near the cathedral found another great bar.
Well worth a short city break if you want to explore lesser known cities in France.

Re: Holidays
Time in Tours was short and sweet but realised on the Sunday night I was coming down with gastroenteritis (I love my friend but he poisons a member of my family every time we go) so had to replan my return journey and get back home before the seal broke or it would have been nigh on impossible.
Basically couldn't vomit or have a dump for 7 hours and could only control it with Rennie's, small sips of water and bread.
Managed it and then have spent about the last 5 days s***ting water every single hour. Nightmare.
Tours was lovely though.

Re: Holidays
I had the s**** on Wednesday. When it happened I ran upstairs like an Olympic stair climber but before I could sit down on the seat I pissed s*** all over the toilet and basin.overseasTOON wrote: Fri Aug 22, 2025 7:43 pm Time in Tours was short and sweet but realised on the Sunday night I was coming down with gastroenteritis (I love my friend but he poisons a member of my family every time we go) so had to replan my return journey and get back home before the seal broke or it would have been nigh on impossible.

Been bunged up with Imodium ever since.

Re: Holidays
This time I've managed to s*** on myself, the bed, the rug in the front room and the bathroom floor.
Worst one was I forgot to take the bucket into the bathroom. Was sat down and felt the urge to puke after racing in there at 1am. Sink was too far to reach, couldn't get off the seat so I just thought "I've destroyed this bathroom in the last 24 hours and it needs a clean anyway" so spewed onto the floor a few times.
My family should thank me that I hadn't sprayed s*** on the ceiling at some point.
Finally back to normal but it's taken 5 days.

It was accidental. I want to make that abundantly clear.

Re: Holidays
En route to Spain for a 3 day "business" trip.
Have a few topics we want to cover, a couple of sessions to review our performance over the last 12 months and what we want to achieve in the next 12. Should take about one morning.
Then we get to have some fun.

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Re: Holidays
Popped out to France for a quick little jaunt and take in my god kids belated 18th birthday.
Essentially a 60 hour trip to get drunk. Managed 6 hours of sleep in 2 days, I may possibly have s*** out a kidney and I've got one lung that seems pretty determined to leave me.
Great trip!

Re: Holidays
Heading to the Greek island this summer to island hop towards Athens when miniOT will join us.
Two weeks, three islands and the Athens for four days.
I've been trying to get MrsOT to do this trip for 25 years so very happy
I did 3 months in Greece as a kamaki when I was in my late teens so this is very much a blast from the past, reclamation of my youth but now I have cash and booked hotels.
Really looking forward to this one
