Law and Order is so addictiveTsi wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 11:50 pm Haven't watched a lot of TV over the years but here are some shows I've enjoyed starting with my favourites
Fargo
Still game
Breaking bad
Ozark (Still watching this on catch up but loving it so far)
Better call Saul
Mindhunter
These are some shows I've enjoyed but for some reason haven't quite reached the same level as the shows above (except for the wire and law and order both look a bit dated now)
life - only watch season 1 (Everything was covered and concluded in season 1 so just watch that. Unfortunately they decided to make a second season which was unnecessary and totally f***ed the views of people about it. shame)
The Wire (like law and order a solid show that might be showing it's age now but still worth a watch if you haven't seen it)
law and order
Black mirror
Love death robots
Godless (let down by ending imo)
Sopranos (was a huge fan of the first couple of seasons but then just became too samey and a poor ending)
Boardwalk empire (loved season 1 but then just became like the Sopranos very samey around about season 3 stopped watching after that)

Spoiler
Apparently been lots of complaints about the ending. I will say I wasn't a fan of the whole fade to black gunshot thing, think that's such a cheap final shot thats overused these days.
Lots more people annoyed about Ruths ending which I find is a contradiction from what happened in the first part of this final season. Everyone was pretty much in agreement that Wyatt and Darlene were on borrowed time as they kept on crossing the cartel, they were always going to end up being taken out. So why is that any different to Ruth, She takes out Javi and f***s with the casino for no reason, she was asking for trouble that whole second half.
Overall I liked the twisted moral of the story, the rich and powerful can pretty much do whatever they like without consequences, the more money and more power the more you can get away with, even against other rich people.
Always had a feeling the Byrdes would get away with it all too, they are probably the big bad at the end of it, but I pretty much like that they just played the system that was already in place, also most of their "Victims" were indirect consequences of their actions but mostly because the victims themselves accepted and got involved with the dangers that were apparent or made absolutely stupid decisions.
I completely understood the ending but I do think certain parts could have been done better.

Good summary and agree about Ruth, she put herself in the firing line. I did think for a second that Navarro’s sister might let her live as a) she’d be laundering money through the casino but more-so b) if she asked Ruth if Marty and Wendy knew that she’d killer her son.
The whole fade to black gunshot was a bit Eastenders like…overall a really enjoyable TV series.

I mean it might not be for you if you didn't enjoy the first - I loved both but Part II was just epic. It's made me want to read the books!Bodacious Benny wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2024 11:53 amInteresting!
