They've been rumoured to have interest all summer.

First I've heard of any interest from Real. It's always us and Inter that have been mentioned, with Real being linked to Maicon.

Real are a small club compared to us. We've got much more chance.

If they bid then I'd expect us to react if we are that serious about bringing him to the club.

Real Madrid are in crisis, why would he go there

There was quite a few articles in the Spanish press (No idea how reliable as I don't know a thing about their media sources) over the summer.

This deadline day with us, Real and Debuchy is going to be like when a couple split up and the puppy has to choose who he wants to live with. Debuchy rolling around on the floor with his favourite ball, while Mourinho, Ronaldo and Pepe show up and he's tempted to go with them, but then Cabaye turns up with no top on and Debuchy picks his best friend and they do a bromantic embrace.

Maybe Debuchy will be in Madrid just about to sign the contract, and then Yohan turns up banging on the door "DEBUCHHHH! DEBUCHHHHH!" and then he drops the pen and runs towards Yohan, then they both get on the next plane to Newcastle and he signs for us
