I clearly wasn't talking about 'protecting the top teams'. My opinion is merely one that the few teams that are blatantly conference standard would benefit more by playing in some other format rather than lose 7-0 for three times already in qualifying like Gibraltar.

This game is dreadful. I really hope England get beat. If not today then in one of our remaining qualifiers. Winning them all would be the worst possible preparation for the tournament. At least if we lose a qualifier Hodgson might finally wake up and realise too many of these players aren't good enough and even more so that this formation and 'style' of play he has is ridiculous and doesn't suit the players at all.
