Massive overreaction as far as I'm concerned. Players get into that kind of situation all the time it's a three match ban and that's that. Granted a manager shouldn't be getting involved with players but the calls for sacking are laughable.

This. It's no where near as big a deal as people are making out.

Was it an actual headbutt or a coming together of heads?

Pardew moved in first, put it that way

So it's acceptable then? If Bruce had done that to one of our players would it be equally hilarious?
It's not acceptable and he should receive the appropriate punishment but a lot of people have completely flipped out over something which is actually pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Football is a passionate game s*** like this will sometimes happen.

Why the f*** would we sack him now that we're in goodish form again?

One good game since we sold Cabaye is not what I'd call good form.

The FA will throw the book at him. It's not as if he doesn't have previous.

MA could well take the opportunity to get rid of him without having to pay the compensation, but I don't think he will. Not sure why I just don't think he will.

Personally i'm massively disappointed in him. I've supported him for ages now against criticism that I felt he hadn't deserved. And then on a day when we put in a performance where he couldn't really be criticised on the footballing front he goes and does that. Absolute bell-end.

I can't believe people are actually defending him. It's simply unacceptable for the manager to set that sort of standard for his players to follow.

No one is really defending him what he did was idiotic and deserves punishment but some people seem to be foaming at the mouth and gathering the pitchforks for the witch hunt. Calls to sack him for example are ludicrous.

I'm annoyed purely because this will take the gloss off such a brilliant performance. At the end of the day why did Meyler need to shove him to start the whole thing off? I bet nobody mentions that. Pardew should get the appropriate punishment absolutely but people are making a mountain out of a molehill over this.

Moronic and retarded from him but he shouldn't get sacked over this incident. Media already going into overdrive though, going to be a long week!

I really don't think they are. How many professions are there where someone in a senior position is allowed to get away with behaviour like that?

Not really. I can't think of a single profession where you could not be sacked for that sort of behaviour. He is a representative of our club and as such there is a code of conduct that he has to adhere to. Ashley will have grounds to dismiss should he choose to. It certainly isn't ludicrous.

What is ludicrous is that knowing he has been under pressure and there is a pretty large and vocal section of our support that wants him out, he goes and gives the owner this headache of a decision to make. He couldn't have taken a bigger s*** in his own nest if he tried.
