Bump!

Admits in the latest team of the week that he bases his teams on MOTD2 highlights.
I originally gave this spot to Emmanuel Adebayor until I saw the tireless performance of Papiss Cisse on Match of the Day 2.

He usually puts his team out on the Sunday evening even if there a match on the Monday, but makes an exception for the Manc derby. What a lovely surprise <awe>

It seems cheap but I'm not surprised. It's not like we can expect him to watch every single game in full every weekend.

It just annoys me that Crooks is employed by the BBC, so it's basically TV license fee money we're paying which is funding this guys probably absurd wages for doing pointless crap like this.

Does he just try and find a player from every position that's scored a goal that weekend and throw them into some form of an XI?

This. If I was paid by the BBC to watch football, thats what I'd do. If I had a weekly column where I have to pick my team of the week every week, I would not base my column on the MOTD highlights. It's lazy, sloppy and a waste of money.

The BBC's tagline for the last 35 years.

Lazy, Sloppy, A Waste of Money. This is the BBC.
