Ahh i've heard of that, isn't it where some under performing, average sportsmen/women get hyped to f*** and get loads of TV coverage for attaining a bronze medal at the most but the sportsmen and women who win gold in a minority sport are forgotten in a week.Sounds fair.I'd also heard that the whole country pays for it with very little benefit from it except of course the host city is this true????
No, London were the host city but Weymouth did a roaring trade in ice cream

God bless those Ice cream sellers and their £3/4/5 a cone ideology

I can't wait, Spurs are there for the taking, they aren't used to AVB style. If we lose, I'll be dreading Chelsea

I can see what you're saying. I didn't follow our pre-season as much as I have in recent seasons which is odd as there is a lot more to look forward to this season. I think I just enjoyed last season so much that deep down I know this one probably won't be as good. I didn't really follow the Euros or the Olympic football as much as I thought I would either

. It's been a strange summer.

I thought I was the only one, but I'm not really that enthusiastic about the new season either. The awesome two weeks of the Olympics has made me interested in all sports except football, especially after the Euro disappointment.
That programme on BBC Three last night got me in the mood a bit more, but we all know this season won't be as good as last

As someone sadly well over 23 I honestly can't wait. Enjoyed the Euros, liked the Olympics, but this is the main event. This is what I pay a small fortune to spend my weekends watching and will continue to as long as I'm able. Running really really really really fast is cool, but can't compare to a well crafted passing move, a 30 yard belter, or a out of the blue last minute winner.

I see where you're coming from Paullow, but I love football, and, whoever it is playing the game, I'll be passionate about it because it's the sport that appeals to me the most. As much as I admired the achievements and the passion of those at the Olympics, I could never get as excited about, for example, rowing, as I do about football. So, basically, I'm echoing what Colly said.
In terms of excitement for this particular season, I can't wait, but I've also got a nagging feeling that this season wont live up to the last, both in terms of the league as a whole and NUFC.

I can't wait for Saturday, I hate the close season, the Olympics have been a good distraction, I enjoyed them more than I thought I would, now I'm more than a little fed up with seeing Olympians on every advert at the moment, but the games still need to be paid for.
For the first time in ages I don't feel anxious about us, more anticipation than anything, only downer for Saturday is the ko time, I'll be stuck in some pub until the Metro is less busy, it's a hard life.

I agree with Owen on Twitter about football/Olympics, people in a football ground have hatred towards some players, all the fans at Olympics want to see athletes so behaviour is different.
