Pressure ramping on Howe now.

Iraola > Poch any day.
Yeah but Poch still a class manager I feel just been out of club football for a while now but his win percentage is good % everywhere he's been. I think he'll me more tactical flexible/dynamic than Howe. <ok>

Iraola would be a good shout but you have to wonder if Man U or Real have already sounded him out.

Sebastian Hoeneß has done great things at Stuttgart if we want to go left field
I'll Hazard a guess

Seem to be strong reports that Iraola going back to Bilbao in the summer, with this piling up on the back of him saying he's going.

I also mentioned Hoeneß :bandit:

Jonjo Shelvey has retired from playing and now appointed manager of Arabian Falcons FC, worth keeping an eye on? 🤔

Can't forget Lee Clarke - Rotherham & Andy Carroll - Dagenham & Redbridge

Can't think of many other ex players who are currently employed as a manager.

Duff, Nolan and Steven Taylor all out of work on a free :bandit:

Another one, bring him home <awe>

Currently manager of Anorthosis. Get him and Jonjo in and it would be a Right Said Fred managerial dream team.

A thought that has just occured to be about Hoeneß, a name that should be on this list. Doing well over at Stuttgart. Which is where a certain Mr. Woltemade came from? Small peanuts but may help haha.

Maybe made enough money that he doesn’t have to bother working. I’m around his age and if I had made a few million I certainly wouldn’t bother <laugh>

Bournemouth once again showing what a well run club looks like. Now I'm not saying we should get rid of Howe, I like to think I've been very vocal in supporting him. However, if there has been that thought at the highest level, I would hope they've at least started the lengthy process of identifying a successor.

With Bmouth, they look close to appointing Marco Rose already - a shrewd move with the biggest ever merry go round coming up. Clearly an internal decision was made that Iraola was going to walk at the end of his contract, which is his prerogative. Done a great job there, moving on whilst his stock is high. The announcement maybe was disappointing for Bmouth, but not unexpected. The timing may be to do with Valverde leaving the Bilbao seat open, which has been widely reported, but it also leaves it open for Bournemouth to actively and aggressively go after their top target as a replacement, which is apparently Rose.

From the noises at the minute (which may change by 5pm today even) it seems like we will sell some prize assets and allow Howe to lead the rebuild, alongside an established executive level in Wilson and Hopkinson. I'd be more than happy with that, and have a good whack next season finishing high as we can and another cup run. It will take time and building before we can compete in and for four competitions every season. If not for the huge financial disparity we would benefit from a year or two in the conference or europa, where yes there's higher expectations but because they are objectively easier competitions.

If that's not the case and we do look to give Howe a nice handshake, thanks for all the fish and move on - I really really hope it's not another protracted summer, and we sort something out quickly. Even if they go for the romantic car crash option which is Jose Mourinho.

Two things have poisoned my view of Howe

1. Tactical inflexibility and the constant desire to plsy 433 even when it's not working .

For the latter half of this season we've had the conundrum of how to get the best out of Wolt .

Clearly 433 cannot do it as we cannot make him one of the midfield 3 otherwise we lose control. We cannot make one if the front 3 as there's a lack of pace.

The answer surely has been to switch to 352 ( where he becomes one the 5) or 3421 where plays as one of the more withdrawn No 10 positions.

Howe's ( and assts) lack of ability to get to grips with this has been a major concern.

2. Over working of players/ lack of a rotation strategy.

It seems Eddie's view of rotation is simply to drop different players into the 433 structure . Doesn't work.

In the first half of the season players like Wolt & Thiaw were played to death .

In the cups he stuck with the existing team give ir take and as a result we saw players go stale and we saw Tino, Schar, Hall , Bruno, Joe , Miley etc lost to injury .

Whomever the bew coach may be he has to gave tactical flexibility and an eye for resting players

Next seadon we wont have Europe so this will be less of an issue

He admitted this is the case in his post match presser. He said that he will only play the players that fit "HIS" system, he said that he can only play one striker and at the moment Osula is his number 1 striker.

He's done for, he's basically admitted he can't/won't adapt, even in the face of complete failure.

Genuinley believe it would be fun for a bit, some rough football at times followed by a car crash ending.
