Gibraltar - Germany 0-1 at Halftime.
Gibraltar with the better chances, but Schürrle coming up with the only goal.

It's not a pointless game at all. Gibraltar deserve their chance as much as any other nation does. It would make for a pretty boring competition if only the top sides were allowed to play.Bodacious Benny wrote:7-0 germany, pointless game.

Re: Euro 2016 Qualifications
It's a debate that's been had many times before on here, but all the tiny nations would have more chance developing as footballing nations by playing each other and the best one or two get a crack at qualifying. How far have San Marino come in the past 25 years of getting spanked every week? What's the point in that?biggeordiedave wrote:It's not a pointless game at all. Re: Euro 2016 Qualifications
The problem I have with the likes of San Marino is that it's a guaranteed 3 points for any team facing them in a group stage. It's an automatic competitive disadvantage for teams in other groups, as they have to face a full number of competitive teams instead of some competitive teams and one banker.
Obviously some teams are better than others and it's just the luck of the draw, but San Marino have such a gulf in quality that it ends up being a bit ridiculous.
That being said, they have a national team and are therefore entitled to compete on an even level with everyone else. It would be discriminatory to make them compete in an alternative way.

Each group appears to get one of those sorts of teams, although some have proved to be better than others.Goat wrote:The problem I have with the likes of San Marino is that it's a guaranteed 3 points for any team facing them in a group stage. A - Kazakhstan - 1pt
B - Andorra - 0pts
C - Luxembourg - 1pt
D - Gibraltar - 0pts
E - San Marino - 1pt
F - Faroe Islands - 6pts - which for them is absolutely unreal and shows that teams who would ordinarily lose 10-0 can come good
G - Moldova - 1pt
H - Malta - 1pt
I - Armenia - 1pt
