I'm not complaining about the fact we finally seem to be putting our hands in our pockets regarding recruitment , but I can't but think of the "ifs" if we had done it when we were competitive after our 5th place finished. But you can't change the past , lets just hope we stay up and the investment continues in the summer.

I don't get the interest in Berahino. We need a striker to come in and hit the ground running - as this is arguably our most important position that needs filling. Yet we're willing to smash our transfer record on a player who is still very much unproven and has a s*** attitude. It's not like he's been sat on the bench all season either; featured in 18 games yet only returned 3 goals. If the club pays £20m for him and we do go down, there's no way we'll get another club pay anywhere near that for him. Huge risk.

I find it hard to believe there isn't a far better alternative out there even for less money.

Trouble is we are running out of viable alternatives it looks like Remy is going to Leicester. Berahino presents less of risk (if you take out the whole £££ issue) than someone like Doumbia because we know he can score in this league. Do we spaff more money on someone we kind of know can score in the PL or go for someone that is more of an unknown quantity but is cheaper? Saying that Saidos attitude does worry me somewhat, he'd have been better off knuckling down and carrying on with WBA , not like he will get a move if he continues smashing it is it.
