It's the middle of the transfer window and it takes them that long to essentially approve or deny a transfer, it's almost like they didn't expect to have to do anything <err>

Congratulations with this transfer... Mitrovic is a good player and has a great future ahead, but this guy is really the bomb.
He has it all: smart, stable and patient, great feet, strong and fast, good header,... He played incredible games during our 2 last Champions League campaigns. Even if he would be 27 years old, this would be the transfer of the century.
Best of luck this season and enjoy the BEAST

Anderlecht supporter here,
Wishing goodluck to 2 of our star players. Especially mbemba, he was our new Kompany. You guys will love him so much. Gonna be fun watching newcastle this season with mitro and mbemba. I predict mitro picking up the PL mentality soon enough and scoring alot. And for mbemba, we will miss you beast :(

I'm as excited as I was when we got Yanga-Mbiwa, hopefully Mbemba settles better in England and is actually played at centre back!

Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread
The work permit system was overhauled this year by the FA - I posted a thread about it months back, though I don't remember the specifics, or if it all takes hold straight away. Essentially going forward players from outside the top 50 won't play in England, because they're ineligible, and the appeal/exemption process was basically removed.Yacob wrote:It has once or twice, but we are the type of club who would have sought assurances before doing all the work.I want soutzoukakia smyrneika too wrote:What's the likelihood of his work permit being rejected? Re: The Chancel Mbemba Thread - FA Visa Panel on 30-Jul
There is an exemption for players costing over £10mil. So if we really want him and the permit is rejected, that's an option.

That exemption is ridiculous. It will either just inflate prices more than they already have, or simply cause a greater divide between the elite clubs and everyone else. Why should a transfer fee have anything to do with a work permit?

I think the idea is they want to stop the flood of low quality foreigners entering the country, but in practice, it is as you say, dividing elite clubs from the rest.CIH wrote:That exemption is ridiculous. A lot about the new system is ridiculous. As if the Fifa standings deserve to be used as reference for anything - yet the FA stupidly use them as basis for one of their most important policiesCIH wrote:That exemption is ridiculous. M'Bemba at the training ground - either this means it's tied up or they're doing his visa hearing there. Either way - news is happening
