Has anyone ever had an easier run to a likely semi final than Arsenal?
Wigan home, Mansfield away, Southampton away.

Don't forget about the away tie to the mighty Portsmouthbodacious benny wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 7:51 pm Has anyone ever had an easier run to a likely semi final than Arsenal?

Chelsea have definitely had it easier though this season alone. Charlton away, Hull away, Wrexham away and nowPort Vale at home. Yes, three away ties but all against much lower opposition.

I'd still say Arsenal's was easier tho. They had two bottom half league one teams, a bottom half Championship team, and a team close to the Championship playoffs.
Chelsea have the 'easiest' tie next (Port Vale away) but have had three Championship teams prior to that - two of which are in the playoffs at the moment.

Arsenal have had ridiculously good luck with cup draws this season. Essentially challenge free runs to the semi final of each competition.
Wigan, Mansfield and Southampton to get to the FA Cup semi final.
Port Vale, Brighton and Palace to get to the league cup semi final.
Leverkusen and either Sporting or Bodo/Glimt to get to the Champions League semi final.

Our cup draws have all been Premier League teams other than Bradford early in the league cup, that’s definitely contributed to injuries and fatigue as we haven’t really been able to make wholesale changes if we wanted to progress. Though that does make it strange that Howe played the likes of Tonali for 90 minutes against Qarabag and trippier for most of the game when we were 6-1 after the first leg.

Re: FA Cup 2025/26
Chucking all the cups so they have a clear path to bottling the league.
Re: FA Cup 2025/26
Actually think they might bottle the league again.
Currently got a 9 point lead which seems big but Man City have a game in hand. If Man City win the game in hand it's 6 points. Arsenal have to go to Man City, if Man City win that as expected it's only a 3 point gap. Thats one game, one slip up and they've bottled the league again.
You wouldn't bet against Man City putting together a run and winning their last 8, you'd be shocked if Arsenal didnt drop points somewhere and won all of thier last 7. Losing the cup final against Man City and the FA Cup game against Southampton back to back will have hit thier confidence, especially with all that talk of a quadruple. Then add into the mix the physiological impact of having bottled the league the past two seasons and you can easily see it all falling apart.
We go to Arsenal end of April. Would love it if we did a job on them and cost them the title. Artetas meltdown would be off the scale.

If city win the league but arsenal win the champions league, would it still be a poor season?
