If true, I'm just glad that we are looking at these options for the summer. Plenty of players on free transfers this year, I'd love for us to snap one or two of them up.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours/Wishlist 22/23
Was thinking of a new thread but decided to just throw into here, potential signings from relegated sides
I going to say Southampton are safe on 40 points so going from Burnley down
Burnley
Looking at Burnley's squad there is some interesting players there who are PL quality are will definitely be moving should they go down, I think they'll just about survive tbh I think they pick up at 4 points from the last four games they'll stay up
James Tarkowski- Is out of contract and has been linked with a move to us already, I think if the likes of Fede and Dummett were to leave in the summer I'd say he'd be a good addition to the backline.
Dwight McNeil- another who we've been linked with even before the takeover, I believer he's been an ever present (or at least played in some part in every game for Burnley this season) I think he'd be another good addition maybe as a replacement in the squad for the likes of Ritchie.
Maxwel Cornet- I'd actually call him Saint-Max clone. Always reminds me of him, has great ability but doesn't always use it correctly, I know we were linked with him a few years back before he moved to Burnley I think he'd definitely be on a few PL, Serie A and Ligue 1 wishlists
Wout Weghorst- The player Burnley turned to after we bought Chris Wood, I'd wonder if there is a relegation release clause in there, would you take him as backup striker?
Leeds
Outside of Chelsea and Arsenal I think they have two winnable games with Brighton and Brentford again 4 points could be enough.
Illan Meslier - I think he's a fantastic young keeper and again definitely one a few teams will be looking at should Leeds go down, we are looking for a keeper who has the potential to replace Dubravka
Robin Koch - again one who will interest a lot should Leeds go down, great versatility capable of playing all across the back line as well as midfield.
Kalvin Philips Again one who has been linked, I think Leeds have really missed him when he's been out he'll 100% have suitors.
Raphinha I think he'd be more likely to move to Spain or Italy but on his day I think he's a gamechanger (similar to Saint Max)
Everton
I actually think despite them beating Chelsea they'll fail to overhaul the points total of those above them, There only hope is that they beat Watford and hope others drop points but I can't see them getting more then 4
Richarlison Similar to Raphinha I think he's more likely to go Spain or Italy prone to a bit of stupidity but again a game changer
Dominic Calvert-Lewin Another who I believe has been linked, hasn't had a great season obviously had his injury issues but even when fit didn't look the same player he did last year perhaps a change of scenery can help him rediscover.
Mason Holgate Ben Godfrey- putting both of these together as I take one or the other two potential cb option only 25/24 so have time to improve too
Watford
All but down
Joao Pedro- young striker who I think would be a good option perhaps on a loan with option to buy, only 20 years ahead of him, I think there will be interest in him but can also see him staying with Watford though too
Ismaïla Sarr the actually reason i decided to post the update as there's been talk of 40m move for him, I think he's definitely one Watford missed when he was injured and away with AFCON, really can't see him being in the Championship next season
Emmanuel Dennis I believe he was someone we scouted when he was at Club Brugge, probably one of Watford's success stories this season, again can't see him playing in Championship next year, can see him being another loan move away from Watford with them hoping to come back up.
Norwich Already down
Max Aarons- one who I think will move might depend on a potential move for Krafth or Manquillo , definitely won't be playing Championship football next year (I think he has West Ham written all over him)
Milot Rashica Another who I think will have interest from Europe , can see him being Bundesliga bound tbh but I've always liked him as a player
Anyone else have any thoughts of players they'd be interested in? Tim Krul for nostalgia ???

I'd take him. Everyone's built up this image of "bad attitude" just from that one video of him pissed and decided he's the next Nile Ranger. For me he's got all the attributes we need, and if we bring in a seasoned 28/29 year old and him I'd be delighted.originallad wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 5:37 pm Read rumours that we'd have Ivan Toney back. Wasn't thinking of his attitude. Just think we can do better. Half his goals have been penalties*. If we were buying two strikers then yeah I'd take him as a back up for Wilson.Colly wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 3:16 pmI'd take him. Definitely take Tarkowski as a rotation CB to replace Fernandez (and would be ahead of Lascelles); is he comfortable enough on the ball for what Howe wants though? I do like McNeil but I'm not sure he adds enough consistency or quality so probably not, and as you say Cornet is a bit of an ASM but hugely injury prone so it's a no from me. Weghorst was prolific in the Bundesliga but I can't see us going for another target man type striker (not how Howe plays) when Wood is already here.lassassinblanc wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 2:01 pm Was thinking of a new thread but decided to just throw into here, potential signings from relegated sides

Leeds it'd be Philips and Raphina as both are quality. Koch is a Mr versatile but we need quality over quantity (similar to why McNeil doesn't make it for me) and he wouldn't improve our first XI.
For Everton, I think Holgate has looked pretty poor for a lot of his time in the PL. Godfrey on the other hand I think looks really good and would be a good signing. Richarlison is quality on his day (and still young) but an absolute prick so can't see him fitting in. The jury is out on DCL with his injuries (and fashion sense).
From Watford, I do like Sarr but he's not quite had the same impact since his injury. Good player in there though. Joao Pedro also seems to have something about him and very young, Gayle replacement? Not interested in Dennis, seems a bit of an early season wonder and not particularly amazing.
And Norwich, not interested in any.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours/Wishlist 22/23
I'd add Pope to the Burnley list. Maybe not be the first choice as a long term replacement for Dubravka, but definitely good enough to challenge him for the shirt. Depending on who goes down, I can see him or Pickford going to West Ham or Spurs. Tarkowski should definitely be someone we would be looking at, along with several other teams. He's a capable defender.Bodacious Benny wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 4:04 pmDefinitely take Tarkowski as a rotation CB to replace Fernandez (and would be ahead of Lascelles); is he comfortable enough on the ball for what Howe wants though? And Norwich, not interested in any.
If Leeds go, I can't see us getting Phillips with the interest shown in him, although would seemingly be a quality addition. Bielsa massively improved his game over the last few years. Can see one of the "bigger" clubs seeing him as a cheaper alternative to Declan Rice. Raphina would be a good signing, but as said above, probably have a lot of interest on the continent.
Everton probably have the best players individually from all the teams down there, and with their financial situation can see a firesale and vultures circling if they do drop out the division. Pickford is a no go for obvious reasons, but I don't think he's really all that good anyway - has a few world class moments in him as shown against Chelsea though to be fair. But I certainly don't see him as the best English goal keeper going. Godfrey would be a good signing, although I think Everton would try and keep hold of him and rebuild that defence around him. Solid defender that should only improve. Richarlison and DCL are the obvious crown jewels in the tarnished toffee crown, and I can see them selling one or both of them regardless if they go down or not. Richarlison seems a bit of a nob, but there's a belting player in there. I am a big fan of DCL but someone else said his fitness hasn't been great, we can't really afford two injury prone strikers. Because of where I live, I know a lot of Everton fans, most of which say he's been a big miss when he's been out, but mostly because there's no one else to step in. Not fans of Rondon haha. Anthony Gordan looks like a burgeoning talent, but would likely be a key player in a championship rebuild and not one they'd look to move on.
Sarr is the standout from Watford for me, will fit a hole we are missing in the squad currently.
Norwich, Aarons is the main candidate really. Been highly rated for some time, linked to all sorts of top top clubs, not quite kicked on yet. Could be an interesting one to be phased into the team as an eventual Trippier replacement. Club a little burnt the last time we bought a promising english fullback from England that had interest from top clubs, though.

I appreciate that Rondon has become a recurring bit when making fun of Everton on Farley TV. Talk about something foretelling the future - it's hilarious that the Agent Rafa content about relegating Everton has actually come to fruition.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours/Wishlist 22/23
Zaha only has one year left on his contract, if we was available for a reasonable price would certainly take him for a couple of seasons. Scored 10 or more PL goals in 3 of the last 4 seasons (3 of those seasons in a Hodgson team who rarely scored), knows the PL inside out and if we did sell ASM he'd be an ideal replacement. Even if we didn't sell ASM, Zaha contributes more goals/assists.
