Re: The winter 2021/22 Covid football thread
Judging from the bench last night it's probably the correct decision, also the league has set a precedent with all the other cancellations so I think it's more than fair. We probably could have got last nights suspended too if we pushed for it, imo, I think Howe and Co aren't the sort to push for it if we can actually put a team out.
The obvious benefit is having time to reinforce the team but I think it's just as important that the other teamS catch up to us in terms of games played.

Hehe, so this means we probably won't have a game until mid january?! Awesome news... Might even bring in a head or two before next game.

Re: The winter 2021/22 Covid football thread
It's mad how we are 1 of only a handful of teams that have fulfilled every fixture so far, we have 1 game postponed and everyone loses their s*** over it, even Hasenhuttl is saying we should have this player and that player available, so the Everton game shouldn't be postponed.
This hatred is going to make it so much sweeter when we ruin football, bring it on. Can't wait to see them all squirm.

Re: The winter 2021/22 Covid football thread
Looking like the Southampton game might be on as the club have sent out press conference invites for 1.30 tomorrow.
Covid: Darlow (again), Willock, Clark and Ritchie.
Injured: Fernandez (thigh), Lewis (thigh), Hayden (knee), Dummett (calf), Wilson (calf), ASM (calf) and Fraser (thigh).
Suspended: Manquillo.
Available GK with PL experience: Dubravka and Woodman.
Available outfield with PL experience: Schar, Lascelles, Joelinton, Shelvey, Hendrick, Krafth, Murphy, Almiron, Anderson, Gayle and Longstaff.
So we only have 11 out of the required 13 outfield players available as things stand, rumours that ASM's injury isn't as bad as feared and he may be back plus also rumours that at least one of the Covid victims will be back subject to a negative test tomorrow which would take us up to 13 and see the game on. If it does go ahead it looks like it'll have to be a bit of a dodgy lineup for us, this is likely the best we can field:
With Hendrick and Woodman the only senior players on the bench from the players who are definitely available.
Obviously you'd expect ASM in for Anderson and Almiron on the right if ASM is back. If one of Ritchie or Clark have recovered from Covid then they'd probably take up the LB spot. At the minute LB will have to be someone out of position (Murphy or Krafth I'd guess, with the other at RB) or a youth/reserve LB.

Craig Hope on Twitter reporting:
“Understand more Covid cases at NUFC training ground this week. More test results tomorrow & would appear likely request for Southampton postponement will be made.”

Man U dicking Burnley tonight would be a nice way to round off 2021.

Re: The winter 2021/22 Covid football thread
Normally I'd have some slight sympathy with the other clubs, but after all the s**** we have had to put up with lately I'm loving them all getting rattled by our postponements, also I love how nobody was bothered when it looked like we would be 4 games ahead of relegation rivals, now that its almost evened itself out, it's apparently a disgrace

Good, quite right.
Brucey bonus, the seethe and faux rage aimed at us , it’s embarrassingly hypocritical yet hilariously entertaining.

We’ve had less games called off than some other teams so are people equally mad at Watford, Man U etc….?
