Ah yeah but you definitely get the 2am calls from players asking how the toaster works or one of my favourite was a 5am call asking can they get the walls painted a different colour because the new girlfriend doesn't like it and won't stay over again until its done
Did you immediately get round there with your paintbrush? ;)

I actually remember a time when I lived with my ex about 10 years ago, about a year after living in a rented flat together I had to ask her to open the washing machine door <laugh>

Though she once messaged me when I was abroad asking how to open the fuel cap on the car that we'd had for at least 2 years...
Not exactly but, we did have to get onto the current owner of the property and see if they were OK with the changes and then organised an interior decorator to meet with them....all in a days work.

There is definitely sometimes you want to tell players to just google it yourself but obviously you can't do that <laugh>
I'll Hazard a guess

Great signing, just need a couple more for squad depth and, manager aside, we have a decent side. Would love to see something like this going forward if we signed Kamara or Cajuste:
Dubravka
Hayden Fernandez Schar
Murphy Willock Kamara Almiron Ritchie
ASM Wilson
Woodman to start the season and keep his place if he performs well. Lascelles/Clark/New CB on loan could all start but I would love to see the back three above as we can start playing it out from the back a bit more (dependent on which Schar turns up this year). I see Hayden's long term position as a centre back in a three as he is too limited to playing CDM in terms of passing and movement.

Get another striker in to cover the front two due to them being injury prone and I would be happy enough with that.

Still wouldn't mind us getting Willems!

I'm just glad the club has finally demonstrated a commitment to improve the central midfield - after years of neglecting improvements there. Seems the other loan rumours suggest additional upgrades there too.

Sad thing is we could and should of been he was more than happy to stay but we had a owner in McKeag that makes Ashley look like a saint.

Good points! Well said & I like that line-up. I don't see Lascelles being dropped if he's fit. Hayden is good in a back three and could potentially be his long term position there as we improve in the midfield as he is limited in terms of creativity, passing, shooting & movement in the middle but his work-rate, tackling & interceptions is second to none. That line-up if fully fit and firing could scrap into the top 10. Need a upgrade in the LWB position imo.. weather it be Willems or Lewis stepping up as Ritchie is nearly 32 and getting on a bit so this could be his last season with us before he goes back to Bournmouth/etc.

Alternative line-up (different formation) 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1

Dubra
Manquillo** Lascelles Fernandez Lewis
Cejuste/Kamara Willock
Murphy* Miggy ASM
Wilson

**If we want to be more attacking put Murphy at RB & Fraser on the right wing. <ok>

So much for being confirmed for 12pm <laugh> I'm not sure how fit/ready he would be to play Sunday anyway, I don't think he's had much of a pre-season with Arsenal. Even if he was on the bench against west ham there would be pressure, camera constantly on him if we are losing in the second half. Maybe best to take him out of the firing line, an "unavoidable delay" in processing the paperwork is a decent way to do just that.

I kinda feel like you're overstating the pressure that'd be on him sitting on the bench. He's a player that had played in Europe for Arsenal, and basically single handedly dragged us out of the relegation scrap last season. Being on the bench for a season opener against West Ham probably doesn't swing the needle very far. Especially since he's already played with literally the same roster under the same coaches just a couple months ago - so there's no real transition needed (unless his fitness is s**** right now).

Delighted with that signing but extremely surprised that we managed to get him; a) because I didn't think Arsenal would let him go and b) because if they did decide to sell I assumed another more attractive club would beat us to his signature. So well chuffed with this!
