And Satka is not ready
Probably.

But to be fair until Janmaat came on he didn't have a defender in position to play with. Would have to see him slotted in amongst a proper back four before writing him off yet. If you know what I mean.

Gabby has looked keen, assisted both of Aarons' goals

Looked sharp as well. Most of the rest have looked like they were running in treacle, but he has been quite quick.

Disappointing performance. You'd hope for a bit more at this stage, especially against second string US opposition.

Disappointing indeed. When is one of our strikers going to score?

Agree. We look months away from being ready for the season based on that.

Still quite a few of the worst performers we wouldn't expect to figure too highly. Hopefully Sheffield Utd he will play our starting XI and give them the majority of the game.

That was crap

The youngsters don't look ready
The same Sissoko and Gouffran flatter to deceive.
Cisse was poor (again)
Aaron's looks quality

Too much slow sideways passing, and too many mistakes all round. No real identity or shape. Not impressed.

I'm not too concerned. I was a cobbled together team with plenty of youngsters that didn't work. The prospect of having Aaron's back tho is exciting !!

This. I didn't watch the game but what did people expect from that line up? For me this game meant nothing.

What the f***ing f*** was that defence selection <****>?

I know it was only a friendly but it is still a hell of a thing to make our defence look even worse than it normally is.

Aarons though <awe>.

He will be off to man city soon <grim>.

McClaren has come out and said a bunch of players couldn't play on the 4g pitch so he didn't want to risk them. It was a case of whoever was left gets a game.

Why we'd travel half way around the world to play on a pitch that half of the team can't play on still blows my mind.

We need to remember these are mainly fitness exercises, plus we are touring and constantly on the move so our players are going to be a bit knackered at this stage. Our fitness levels will show more once we are back in the UK with a less hectic schedule with less traveling.

Not much to read from that game, especially with a makeshift defence. Glad we didn't risk injuries on the pitch with some of the players.

Aarons though, couple of cracking goals.

Does anyone know what Aaron's contract is like atm?

We need to get him signed up to an 8 year deal with a £50 mil release clause. <ashley>

From the Guardian:
Aarons, who missed much of last season through injury but scored in the Capital One Cup victory against Manchester City in October, is expected to sign a new contract this week.
