Think your laughter should have been reserved for Williamson. He's proven without doubt to be a grade A duffer.
Ashley tells you it's raining. Do you look out the window?

God, this transfer window is draining me of optimism by the week. We start off with all these big targets and promises of investment, we're almost at pre-season and now we're talking about re-integrating s**** like Shane Ferguson and giving Williamson another chance.

I don't read The Mag, but they offer a fairly reasonable explanation as to why it's taking so long.

Hasn't stopped other clubs making signings, agreeing deals. And I doubt there is another club in the league that needs quite the overhaul we do in terms of personnel.

Hmm, that is fairly logical I suppose. Guess we'll see what will happen over the next couple of weeks. Not holding my breath mind.

I expect us to make some decent signings, but thought we'd have at least made one or two by now. It seems as though sorting out the coaching staff has been our main priority (thank f***).

Also, there's a big difference between the club talking about reintegrating players like them, and the Chronicle. Similarly, people complaining about the club alleging they're in for top players and not closing deals - again, it's the media making these stories, not the club. I'm still cautiously optimistic, considering none of the players we're rumoured to be in for have signed anywhere yet.

If we're talking reintegration it's the likes of Gouffran, Anita and Riviere I want to see used properly, not Ferguson and Iron Mike. Rubbish from Ronny Gill.

Sorry, it didn't come across clear in my post, by 'we're' I meant us, not the club <ok>

I want to be optimistic I do, but we've been fed the whole 'oh, we're investing' **** for about the last four summers and ended up with rubbish. Last years investment was only the Cabaye and Debuchy money re-invested. I'll believe Ashley is putting his hand in his pocket when I see it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think we all have good reason to be doubtful, based on what we've been offered by the club for years now. And I'm not suddenly assuming they've turned over a new leaf. I simply mean nothing from the past couple weeks specifically has got me pessimistic yet.

Not sure if this is making me optimistic about McClaren or making me despair as to how shambolic training sounds under Pardew.

A lot of people in the comments section seem to think that it was a PR stunt by the club.

Wouldn't be surprised either way though.

Surely the reason our players came back in dribs and drabs was because they were returning from the World Cup. Or a buffet in Ben Arfa's case.

Defo the latter mate...Still don't know where colo and a couple of others were yesterday, supposedly only national players given the extra week off, but he may come in whenever and say 'Hey its what I'm used to' <pards>
'I WILL DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE'
