Watched the last 15mins. Our defence was worse that the Toons. I think Willo could have easily replaced Gibbs. Nice move for goal 3 but the Slovak defenders went AWOL

Lallana should feature more often
Re: Euro 2016 Qualifications
You mean like 10 out of the last 14 games, only missing those 4 through injury?Juliet Papa Golf wrote:Lallana should feature more often

Do teams only play eight games during qualification?

Re: Euro 2016 Qualifications
One group wil play 8 games as there are only 5 teams in it but the rest of the groups have 6 teams so will play 10. The scores and points against the team that finish bottom of the groups with 6 teams are discarded to work out who gets a play off place so all play off spots are decided over 8 games.Juliet Papa Golf wrote:Do teams only play eight games during qualification?

Massive games tonight for the Republic of Ireland and Scotland.
As a Jock I'm hoping that Germany beat Ireland and Scotland can get a result against Poland so we stand a chance of a play off place.

Watched the Rooney documentary and it's sad to think how good that 2004 Euro England side was. Who knows what would have happened if Rooney didn't get injured.
Better to have a s*** team now that everyone knows is s***,than a good side on paper but s*** results

Would he be better now if he joined the Toon? A lot of what If's but what Carragher said that a lot of people don't realize about Rooney if how long he has played regularly. Your peak is supposed to be late 20's and to be considerably worse in your early 30s. Since Rooney has been a regularly playing for a good 4 years earlier than most people he had another 4 years of damage to his body which is why he's s*** now; it's like he's 35.

That's a very fair point. And there are a lot of strikers that decline faster than their counterparts in other positions, I guess because the position relies more heavily on athleticism and having that extra step on defenders. That's a more general point, because I know his game doesn't rely on pace as much as others have.LONDONTOON wrote:Would he be better now if he joined the Toon? But he didn't just get s***, he has been s*** for 10 years. His goals at Man United often covered up his poor performances.LONDONTOON wrote:Would he be better now if he joined the Toon? He's clearly still got ability, because every once in a while he turns it on, but he peaked well before he got old. I think a lot of it is mental, and Ferguson has a lot to do with that.

Watching Northern Ireland. Hoping they get the result they need.
Already looking good with the Faroes being 1 up.
