It's just been on sky as breaking news so I'm guessing it's gone from speculation to reality. If we're talking to him now then QPR have given permission meaning we've met their valuation,no.

I'm very unclear on the rules here. We seem to often talk to players before we agree fees for them, and it's not 'tapping up'... I imagine we're in very vague fee discussions with QPR

I'm not getting excited or getting my hopes up. Being reminded of the Remy saga today has meant I'm not celebrating till I see him holding the scarf whilst grinning like a maniac.

Unsure of it either, seems to be a shady area. The guy said "News coming in that Austin is in advanced talks with Newcastle as we speak.

This is normal now, in a lot of cases the clubs know the players terms and the fee that the club will accept before even making an offer due to agents.

Rumours that Chelsea are also showing an interest in The Telegraph.

It's a strange order of doing things, but I think we're talking to him and drawing up a contract on the assumption that a fee is eventually met. Apparently we want to pay 10 and they want 15. I don't think he's worth more than 12 but f*ck it, open the pursestrings and splash out just to get one 'over the line' for once.

Didn't realise Chelsea would be big fans of a newspaper.

Austin would be a fool to join Chelsea. I might get ridiculed for that, but let's just hope he's in it for more than just the money.

I'm more likely to believe Sky who reported this 15mins ago than the telegraph.
