You have to be stupid not to know that though really.
Yeah but it's evermore apparent when conceding 3 goals to a side like Burnley when we were otherwise comfortable in attack. I don't think it should all be pinned on the players though, even though they can play like Lumley Ladies under twos at times. There must be something seriously wrong with our defensive coaching when we're constantly just leaving men unmarked and always indecisive in our own half. Williamson gets a lot of stick, although it's not undeserved, but he has shown in spells that he has the ability to be decent. However, this form never seems to be maintained and he just goes back to his usual Bambi on ice defending style. Surely if a coach could drill into him the fact that giving the opposition player a bear hug in the box isn't a good idea, it would at least be a little improvment.

Hit the woodwork a few times didn't we, streamed it as I can't afford to go away...2 kids and all that but my pals said you lot were fantastic with them in the pubs before, hope you don't go for Dyche as he is destined for bigger things than Burnley, hopefully in a few years though.

Just got in from the match, that felt like a defeat. We were absolutely shocking in the second half. We couldn't string two passes together. Armstrong doesn't look good enough for this level anyway, but hurling long balls at him has to be the most pointless thing I have ever seen. Alnwick is not good enough, I wasn't impressed by anything except Radgemaat (consistently good) and Perez. Sissoko was so-so.

We won't be going for a manager as experienced as Dyche <laugh>.

I hope Burnley stay up and I'm sure you will. Palace, Hull, QPR and Leicester will occupy the bottom four in any order. It's good to have a Lancashire club in the league. It's crazy to think at one point there were four of them!

Newcastle caretaker manager John Carver: "I don't think I have been involved in such a game of, to use the old cliche, two halves.
"We controlled the game and played really good football in the first half but the second half was pretty awful.
"I thought we had got out of jail (with Sissoko's goal) but they should have won the game. They were the better team over 90 minutes. They caused us more problems than we did them.
"We think Steve Taylor has snapped his Achilles tendon, which is disappointing."

That post match is such a breath of fresh air from the tripe Pardew used to peddle after every game.

Yeah, at least Carver's honest. Though I'd rather we had a coach who could put right the failings...

Alnwick's conceded 18 goals from 33 shots. <erk> We need a new 3rd keeper...

If it's Premier League starts only it's 13 goals from 18 shots... That almost literally couldn't be worse, especially considering a couple of those he saved and the opposition scored the rebound.

Burnley played well bit we were poor, especially in the second half. Jak Alnwick is a joke. I know he's young and that but he's never ever going to make it at this level. He's playing at the very least a good 5 divisions above where he should be. In fairness to him our defence is a joke as well though. Dummett was atrocious as was our leaderless captain Coloccini. Mike Williamson should never be playing for a Premier League club. Tiote is a clown, might as well have been wearing a Burnley shirt. He's a complete liability. There was a time he was supposedly worth £20m. We'd be lucky to get £2m for him now and if we could I'd take it.

I can't think of anything more idiotic than continuously hoofing it up to Armstrong and expecting him to win the header. He's probably not even 5ft man, its just ridiculous. Riviere should have stayed on if that was going to be our only tactic in the second half.

Ayoze Perez is far far far too good for this team. He's a special talent and we won't have him for much longer. He'll be a t Madrid/Barca/City/Chelsea etc in no time. At least one good thing will come from Jak Alnwicks career, one day he'll be able to say that he played alongside Balon D'Or winner Ayoze Perez.

If Krul isn't back for the next league game then we have to sign a competent keeper for it. Starting Alnwick is just automatically throwing the game away. We desperately need a new CB as well, Williamson can't be playing games in this league.

I admire Carvers honesty. It was a pleasant change hearing our manager admit that we are s**** and didn't deserve the point we got. Pardew would have called it an honest performance, said 'weys was tired' and probably tried to claim we were unlucky not to win.

However Carver is no better or worse than Pardew as a manger. He can't be given the job full time. Not even as caretaker until the end of the season. We desperately need a new head coach in.

When we get a new head coach in he has to be allowed to bring his own staff with him as well. We need a complete overhaul at this club.

Carver admitted we were s*** but he didn't come close to explaining the logic behind taking off Riviere (who was linking up well with Perez, holding the ball up brilliantly and generally having a decent game) before an hour was up for a player too short to play as lone striker and not quite ready for the Premier League leaving us relying on nothing but a moment of magic from Perez (which as usual he provided) as our only outlet. Or the bizarre switch of Gouffran for Haidara which accomplished absolutely nothing when he had Cabella on the bench. Fingers crossed this has ruled him out of the running.

Burnley very unlucky not to get the win. In a game where they had used all subs by half time we should've punished them with fresh legs, and we failed miserably.

Good game today.

Looking through the posts on here it's a pity that some of your fans are utterly clueless about football.

This 'relegation fodder' should have given you a right seeing to today and I hope we get another go at you next year you silly magpie bastards.
